“Sawaragi” is a guest house located in the very center of historical area in Kyoto. It is only a 10 min-walk to Imperial Palace and Nijyo-jyo castle(world heritage) You would have easy access to a huge supermarket, convenience stores and restaurants around the house, which is very convenient. It is quiet and comfortable to stay as Sawaragi is not facing a big street. Right next to our guesthouse, there is a tofu shop established in Edo period. You can buy some fresh handmade tofu and enjoy eating right after buying them. In the neighborhood, there is a long-standing shop that makes Nama-fu(wheat gluten), which is essential for local cuisine of Kyoto. You can enjoy some fresh Namafu Manju (steamed bun filled with wheat gluten). There are other local stores such as Japanese confectioner and caterer's shop of local cuisine of Kyoto. It is an area you can enjoy food culture which is unique to Kyoto. You can not miss those japanese cuisine during your stay!
