We visit Kitakyushu every year because we have family members living there. I love Kitakyushu because of how peaceful and less crowded it is and I know the place more than the other cities in Japan. Kitakyushu also has a lot of local tourist spots that can be reached if you rent a car or by bus/train.

I had friends there, that showed us around a great deal. There's a nearby steam train run that was fantastic. The caves at the Karst Plateau were a great adventure. Also a high-school sumo tournament was fun. Trains and subways were easy. Kokura castle is definitely worth a visit! Lots of displays.

We stayed in Kokura which has a Shinkansen station, so it is a very good base to visit the whole of southern Japan. We came here for the Rugby World Cup. There was one restaurant in particular, called Nabun Thai Restaurant just next to one of our hotels, which had really excellent food.

There is a lot to see in this city.
There is a lot to see in this city. The food culture is diverse, the art and music scene as well. It’s very close to travel from one place to another from Kitakyushu. There’s Mojiko that is really close. Fukuoka is about an hour bus ride. It’s a perfect place to stay if you wanna do one day trips to other places. I personally found the city easily walkable from everywhere.

Very bad hotel, dirty, room with serious smoke smell, very small, NO wifi provided which is different from hotel description, staff service very bad. I booked 2 rooms but they provided us the rooms in different floors even we request to have the same floor. Staff were very inconsiderate, old style hotel, dirty, serious smoking smell. If this hotel is in China, may only costs HK$100, but now we booked at HK$700 per room, DIRTY ROOM! Never go again, other guests please take care!!!

Kokura Castel was an easy walk from the train station.
Kokura Castel was an easy walk from the train station. The TOTO Museum in Kokura was interesting and has audio head set with multiple languages. The city of Mojiko was nice to walk around and there are some nice shops just a short walk from the train station. If you enjoy walking, you can walk from Mojiko through the Kammon Tunnel under the Hayatomonoseto Strait to Shimonoseiki. Approximately 75 minutes (5.2km). In Shimonoseiki the Kaikyoo Yume Tower is a great place to view the area. There is a small fee of 600yen to go up to the top.
Staff was very helpful and advised us to use the public parking lot right next to the hotel. It only cost us 700 yen to park overnight from 9pm to 9am. They also loaned us umbrellas when we needed to go out while it was raining.
They also helped to point us to the right store when we urgently needed to buy an adaptor for the car charger.
In the room, there's a multi cable charger available for use.
Good shower n toilet facilities within the room.
Decent place to stay for 1N when u just need a room and a shower.
This very nice hotel is so easy to find after you get off the train. Just go out the main exit on the pedestrian mall and look to your right. You will see the top of the hotel from there. It is an easy five minute walk from there. Check-in was easy with the help of the receptionist, which made check-out easy. The staff members who helped us were kind. Our room was small, but comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was good. This hotel is within walking distance of Tanga Market and Kokura Castle.
Convenient location directly across train station but not noisy. Typical Japanese breakfast buffet was good to have before getting on Shinkansen. Double bed was comfortable and suitable to sleep 2 people but floor space is tight (typical) if you have large bags it would be hard to manage them. Small mini fridge and kettle in room was nice to have. Microwave available in lobby. Perfect for an overnight to catch train. Plenty of toiletries if you forgot something; also robe and slippers.
The location is excellent - a few steps from Kokura train station to the left as you exit; the hotel provides free bike hire - a great plus (for me); there is a microwave in the lobby and in a nice location - not in front of the reception desk; the staff I dealt with were pleasant and helpful; the lighting in the room was very good...
Great location as we were on our way through - would've loved to spend more time in the city and the location seems perfect for most of the sightseeing. Staff was very helpful and communication worked even though our Japanese language skills are very limited. Added bonus: Wonderful view onto the city from the floor we were on!
We loved this hotel!! You can walk or take a short taxi to the train station. There are many fun food spots in the neighborhood. The hotel itself was gorgeous. It had a beautiful garden *and* a super delicious breakfast!! We stayed here during our honeymoon and had a wonderful time.
A busimess hotel with good value, good location and great staff who speak English really well. The standard pillow in the room is a bean type pillow, however a normal pillow was available on a shelf at the entrance. Compared to most business hotels it is probably a little better.
The hotel amenities were fantastic. The rooms were immaculate and the bed was huge. The hotel relief is a very apt name - as soon as we arrived we were welcomed with some hot food and drinks, friendly staff and a comfortable room
In Japan I like to have my Hotel close to the train station.
The train station area is always safe and offers plenty of infrastructure (food towers, shopping, subway and train connections.
The room is larger and there is laundrymat in the hotel. Friendly staff and convenient location. The breakfast is great. The self storage for luggage is convenient and secure.
The hotel is a bit old but quite well maintained.
Room size a little bit bigger than the average business hotel. Breakfast is included in the price which make it a great value
Typical APA hotel standard. If you are OK staying at this chain then you pretty much know what you are going to get. Nice touch that they video service was free.
