If I could I would give this hotel 10 stars. My seaside room was huge with a comfortable futon, small table, and if cold a kutatsu table you can sit under and look out over the bay. There is also an in room bathroom with shower and tub (tub fills with hot spring water) but I only used the 9th floor onsen. The view of the bay in the morning from my room and the breakfast room was breathtaking and even better from the 9th floor onsen. Tattoos are not allowed in the onsen unfortunately. I took an onsen in the evening after checking in and in the morning before leaving and wish I could have stayed longer. There are two indoor baths (one hotter than others) and one small outdoor bath overlooking the bay. In the evenings at 8:45 pm there is a free concert in the lobby by a shamisen master that I would have paid to see in a concert hall. If you’re looking for a relaxing seaside onsen experience Kaisenkaku can’t be beat!

This is a beautiful hotel with a onsen with a spectacular view of the Aomori Bay and Shimokita Penninsula. The rooms are wonderful and the buffet breakfast was one of the best that we have had. There is often a traditional Japanese shamisen performance in the evening. Because it was the Christmas season there was also a wonderful harp concert.

Hotel is located right on the coast line. The hotel has an outstanding onsen facility! Food was great at the hotel.

Very big and beautiful room with nice sea view; good onsen; great hospitality! I love the kotatsu, it’s warm and comfortable and intelligent.

Room, breakfast, and great onsen with a sea view! If location is not a problem (e.g. driving), will recommend this hotel over the business hotels in Aomori city. Maybe not too relevant, but don't forget to visit the aquarium just a kilometer away. It is a small aquarium very reasonablely priced, and you can get so close to dolphins which is never possible in the large aquariums in other big cities in Japan.

It was traditionally Japanese and beautiful. We had a spacious room with great amenities and a large window facing Mushu Bay. I have great photos but can not attach at the moment.

This was such a beautiful ryokan/hotel. The rooms were huge with a wonderful kotatsu and a very clean and spacious bathroom. There was a very large onsen which overlooked the sea. The buffet breakfast was delicious - I just wish I’d woken up early to enjoy more of it! Finally, the staff were very kind, polite and friendly. We’ll be back soon!

Nice Traditional Room with Mountain View, very close to Asamushi-Onsen Station. Relaxing

The Onsen was super nice and the view to the sea too... beside the hotel has a small Susie place which is very nice also recommended

Thoughtful staff, we stayed 4 nights and got really dedicated treatment. From little things like the room staff remembered the preference of more mattresses when setting up the futon on the following nights to the Chef specially preparing additional delicious dishes and there was no need to visit the buffet table. The breakfast and dinner buffet spread is fabulous as well. The sea view room is an excellent choice. Short walk from Asamushi-onsen station. Definitely for someone looking for time away from the crowds.
