Considering there are almost no other option, this is the best one available. Staff was incredibly friendly, picked us up at the harbour and dropped us off at the beach.
NetherlandsThe staff picked me up from the wharf and drove me right to the hostel. They also drove us to the beach in the morning... kitchen was well equipped and nice for cooking. There is a grocery store right now the street - just a 5 minute walk.

ChinaIt is not an average hostel, it feels more like a Japanese home. The staff is really nice and helpful, it is very close from the port and you can even get a shuttle from the hostel to Aharen or Tokashiku beach, where you would normally walk around one hour.

FranceThe hostel is almost like a house that you're given to enjoy and be responsible with. Lots of bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, good layout, a nice common room. I like that you don't have to carry a key around since the place has a digital access pad. The beds have lots of curtains that provide privacy, washing your clothes is very cheap here (¥50) so I'm happy I waited until I got here to wash my clothes. It's nice to see how much the owner enjoys his lifestyle, and he provides a nice introduction and insight into island life. He owns a shop by Aharen beach so you can get rides back and forth between the beach if your times align appropriately, or if you book the ride the previous day.

FranceMoreno and his wife Miki have a lovely guesthouse right in the middle of Kerama islands. They pick me up from ferry when I arrived to the island and brought me straight to their shop near the beautiful Aharen beach. Their hospitality was beyond my expectations!!! The guesthouse itslef very clean and comfortable.

Kerama Backpackers is located just under a 10-minute walk from the eastern shore of Tokashiki Island. There is a garden at the property and WiFi is available in all areas. The hostel offers free pick-up service from Tokashiki Port upon reservation.
Each room has air-conditioning and heating systems. There are clothes racks and safety deposit boxes. Bathrooms and toilets are shared.
Guests are free to use the shared kitchen and enjoy relaxing in the shared lounge, garden or terrace. The property offers free shuttles to a marine shop near Aharen Beach, where guests can enjoy activities and use a shower.

Kerama Backpackers is located on Tokashiki Island, an island in the Kerama Islands. The Kerama Islands were recently designated as Japan’s 31st National Park as of March, 2014. Tokashiki Island is well-known in Japan for its coral and beaches, and you can enjoy various marine sports such as diving and snorkeling. Kerama Backpackers is the only hostel-style accommodation in Tokashiki. There are a Mixed dorm as well as a Female dorm, in addition to a Japanese-style room (private room or Mix dorm) with tatami mats. We also have a comfortable common room, kitchen, laundry, and shower rooms in the hostel. Please feel free to ask our staff about not only our marine sports plans, but also local information including sightseeing sites and nearby restaurants.
There is not a beach for swimming in the Tokashiki area. If you want to swim in the sea, you should go to the Aharen beach or Tokashiku beach. There is a marine shop of the same management of our guest house "Islands trip" in the Aharen area. You can use freely (shower room, luggage storage, etc.) of the facility at "Islands trip". We are also free transportation to "Islands trip", please ask to our staff about time schedule.
