A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
We had a great stay at this hotel. It is ideally located close to Hakodate’s train station. We walked from there in less than 10 minutes. Our twin room was spacious, with comfortable mattresses and pillows and lots of amenities (coffee, tea, water, kettle, iron, safe, etc.). The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast on offer had a huge selection that was fresh and tasty. The spa on the rooftop was very special.
Mount Hakodate and Sabo Kikuizumi (a small cafe that's one of the locations in the Love Live Series). My dudes, I could spend an hour talking about how much I loved Sabo Kikuizumi. I got to sit down in Leah's room. Just perfect. North side of the house (no direct sunshine), in the shade of some trees, open windows and doors to allow the breeze to cool everything down, and a view of the harbor down below.
Oh, the hotel? It's close to the station.
breakfast was lovely , times to use the onsen were accommodating. From Hakodate station take tram number 5 and it’ll drop you off 3mins walk from the hotel. I forgot my charger and the hotel forwarded it to my next hotel free of charge. The staff were very nice and spoke good English. Chang was amazing and made my first ryokan stay a special one. The hotel does have a card machine, disregard what it says on booking.com.
Location of this hotel was very convenient to the Hakodate train station The tram stops is also a few minutes away. Hotel is also close to an assortment of eateries: from Izakaya to Ramen noodle shops. About 5 minute walk away was the excellent Hakodate Morning Market, which had a plethora of food choices.
I love this place so much , easy to check in , the room was big enough for family. The morning market and Lucky Pierrot hamburger was super close to the hotel.
Soooooo convenience !!!
I can walk to the Port and many places from the hotel.
This hotel is in my list if I come back to Hakodate again for sure.
I have to say a big thank you to the staff. My mom forgot the room number and got lost in the hotel. To find her, we caused lots of trouble to staff. But they show patience and professionalism. This group are so helpful. Thanks. I will book this hotel again if I had a chance to visit Hakodate again.
good size room for Japan. New hotel adjacent to JR Hakodate station. exceptionally clean hotel with Onsen on 2nd floor, breakfast was very good with a wide variety of dishes. easy access to train and sightseeing buses and able to walk down to morning fish markets and busy restaurant area
The APA in Hakodate Ekimae was very good. The personnel spoke very good English (which surprised me since it wasn't the case in Kyoto).
Breakfast was the best of all APA hotels I stayed with. Loved it!
The room was much bigger so it was a bit more comfortable for luggages.
The hotel is just 5 minutes' walk from the hakodate station main entrance. It is very easy to go around hakodate, bus/taxi stations just across the road. A few minutes walk from seaport, seafood restaurants. It was very nice to walk around the hotel
This hotel will be such a gem if not for their services offered. Their location is just walking distance to the JR Hakodate station, bus terminal, less than 2 mins walk to the Hakodate seafood market and there’s a 24-h Lawson within the vicinity.
cool concept with the pillow selection corner. Rooms are cozy and very functional. Best for short stays. Located Just opposite the morning market, and linked to JR Hakodate which is just beside the hotel
It's new. Non smoking. Courteous and helpful staff, good location with many restaurants nearby and Aeon just behind the hotel. Hakodate station and morning market within minutes walking distance.
Only a few min walk from JR Hakodate station. Min to morning markets & Bay Area & water. The best part of the hotel was Hot spring on the top floor with ocean views!!! Staff was very helpful.
The hotel is right in the middle of Hakodate station, accessible to restaurants, the tram, the bus station. The hotel rooms are clean, well maintained. The breakfast is excellent
Hotel was connected from JR Hakodate Station. Front staffs were nice and helpful. Top floor Onsen bath was great and no extra charge. Sushi breakfast was good.
Overall, the service is good, location is great, it’s near the market, the pier and the mountain top! I will recommend this hotel for a short stay in Hakodate
