It is a very homey and comfortable place to enjoy the beauty of Japanese Ryokan and onsen. This is my second time to be there and I really am looking forward to coming again next time

The in-room bath (for those rooms that have it) are great; very deep and the water comes in piping hot! Our room was also massive for two people; the rooms with the private baths could easily host a bigger family with no discomfort. Lovely view of the river, mountain, and the JR line going through the mountain tunnel. Very romantic when covered in snow! ⛄ The communal Onsen is cozy, a bit small but the temperatures vary in the two baths for those who need it very hot and those who don't need it boiling. The outside bath is incredible in the winter! Food in the restaurant was fresh and filling; they had homemade konjac sashimi and grilled fish when we visited. There is free tea and coffee in the lobby area! Greatly appreciated when waiting to check in.

This was definitely one of the best places I've ever stayed in Japan. It was such a cute and cosy hotel but everything was so nice and good quality. The hotel only has 3 floors and a few rooms for guests which made the experience so much nicer. You barely bump into anyone and it was just nice being able to walk around the corridors with our socks/slippers that they provided. The hot spring was also amazing, the outdoor view was gorgeous! Actually a dream just to see the fog rolling over the mountain! We had dinner and breakfast there and it was absolutely amazing! Such high quality and so fresh! Definitely recommend getting it as well if you are staying at Micasa! The hotel was also super accommodating with time to get picked up at Minakami station. Really quick and helpful replies. Staff was also super helpful and explained everything for us. It was a great time!
