Very spacious and luxurious modern room. It had all the facilities. Staff were helpful and tried their best to communicate in English. Location is peaceful as it is outside Kyoto and near forest. Garden inside the property was beautiful. Liked the onsen public bath. Obviously, Japanese toilet was just too good.

The staff was exceptional. They were attentive, kind, and helpful. We walked down the road (15-20 min.) to the nearest convenience store and got to enjoy the quaint neighborhood and were greeted by students as they walked home after school. It was an uphill walk on the way back, which is very doable; however we chose to get a taxi back up. The onsen was spacious, clean, and highly enjoyable. We chose to have the kaiseki dinner in our room and it was superb! Quality meal with Japanese foods we were familiar with and some that we weren’t which made our dinner that more unique. The Japanese breakfast was over the top! Ryokan Nenrinbo was an affordable, quality choice to experience what makes Japanese culture so special. Arigato gozaimasu!

The staff were very kind and helpful. They proactively try to help and make sure I’m as comfortable and happy as possible during my stay. I missed the shuttle bus on the morning, and even though it was totally my fault, the receptionist took my by his car to where I wanted to go!

The room was very modern and updated with a big bathroom area and nice appliances. It was very bright and clean. I was also surprised by how the staff greeted us at our car and carried all of our luggage upstairs to our room.

The staff were really friendly and also accommodating of my food preferences, despite me making requests on rather short notice (it was a last-minute trip). The shower was powerful and the garden view was nice. The breakfast was just okay, but the dinner was good. The shared bath (not onsen) was okay. Location-wise, it’s quite remote from the main city area, which is exactly what I wanted. Nice fresh air. There’s a bus which stops close by and runs to the Nijo castle area. Overall, I had an enjoyable stay at Nenrinbo :)

The staff were very helpful and even took us directly to our intended location via shuttle bus since we were the only customers using it at the time. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable.
