This has been the best island that we have visited to date very clean great beaches and plenty to see
Traveling around was easy as roads are good, Sat Nav in rental car was a bit hit and miss
There different colors of the sea are a must to see and take pictures
We were very lucky had a BBQ at a popular beach and it happened to be a very good place to see a sunset that evening

The center city is not very lively or pretty.
The center city is not very lively or pretty. The island is rather rural with lots of banana, tobacco, and sugar cane plots. However, the suburb areas near the beaches are beautiful. I would recommend a resort as the available activities are limited to outdoors and dining. A car is required to get around. Unsure if there is any nightlife in the area.

Wonderful and beautiful place, the color of the sea amazing, many interesting sites to visit BUT you NEED a car (to rent a car). The public transportation is almost non existent (there is a bus to the airport). The island is too big for the bicycle, and too hilly.

During Golden Week, you must book an Izakaya for dinner ahead of time. If you try to walk into a restaurant, they will be fully booked or not let you in. Some of the locals seemed to discriminate against foreigners but not other Japanese tourists.

It’s a magical island and I didn’t see as much as I wanted due to a 4 day typhoon where we needed to stay inside…typhoons are common but not this long! But the accommodation was very flexible and offered extra nights at reduced cost
I’ll be back to complete my sightseeing outside of typhoon season!

Beautiful place, nice diving and snorkeling sites, since this is a remote island, the sea and environment are preserved well, you may enjoy the underwater world with just 2 hours flight from Hong Kong
This apartment hotel is very convenient, well located with a supermarket not far (by car). As there is a functionnal kitchen it is convenient for meals there.
The location is good in Miyakojima, the most famous beaches are reachable by car in less than 30 min.
The apartment is quiet, the room is big and clean, the bed is comfortable.
There is a heater in the bathroom to dry the clothes if necessary, as there is a washing machine.
Upon checking in, we were given a room on the highest floor, which had an excellent view of the pool and beach. There was easy access to Yonaha Maehama Beach from the Hotel and very clean shower facilities. We had a delicious BBQ on the second night at sunset and a very kind member of staff offered to take some photos of us. We could also hear frogs at night, which was really lovely and added to the relaxing, natural ambience.
Hello. Thank you for everything! It was nice that the hotel was within walking distance from the restaurants in town. We walked into town most nights and were able to drink a beer with our meal. Visitors need a car if they stay at this hotel because the beautiful beaches of MIyakojima are not within walking distance.
The villa is quite far away from each other so a lot of privacy and quietness. Overall vibe of the villa was resort like and perfect for a relaxing vacation.
Can park the car next to the villa so very convenient.
Mini kitchen with cooking ustensiles, perfect for a simple meal.
2 big tv’s.
Free private airport shuttle provided by Shigara resort. Easy to find on arrival. Return to airport also free, to be reserved at reception. "Twin room" spartan, but very functional. In-room safe. After 4 pm free shuttle bus to other areas of Shigara resort.
Good breakfast buffet.
location, spacious parking lot, and beach view. I chose this after I stay at the same hotel in Ishigaki. very homey. I could do the laundry after diving. location-wise, very close to Irabu island. love the room layout (305) - spacious, living room, working station.
The owner and staff (and the guests during my stay) were super kind and open. Even if your japanese isn't that good, they try to welcome you and make you feel nice during your stay.
There is also a really cute black cat.
The view is amazing, really nice-sized room (superior room with tatami area), and the location is nice in the south of the island, part of a resort area. Beach towel rental service is good (although the towels aren't huge).
Mote spacious than expected for being in Japan. The space had everything we needed.
Very clean.
Loved the washer in the room!!!
Hotel responded by email very quickly to all our questions.
Small private resort , beautiful garden, very nice location with beautiful view over the ocean. The breakfast was very nice. The owner was very friendly and gave us a lot of tips.
