We got to see turtles at Ama Beach which was wonderful.
We got to see turtles at Ama Beach which was wonderful. We also rented an electric ‘car’ for 4 hours ($50) and were able to ride around the entire island. The accommodation (Blue Marine) was conveniently located and the breakfast and dinner (included in our arrangement) were top-notch. We especially appreciated the delicious fresh sashimi each evening with our meal. Taguchi-san created a great variety of delectable meals.

Take food with you if you are going off-season!!!!
Take food with you if you are going off-season!!!!
It’s very difficult to find food. There are two small stores selling snacks/ beer but that’s about it. Oh, the fresh seafood takeaway place is open early and sells very delicious ( and huge) onigiri plus fried fish ( ONE PIECE=¥100). There’s nothing else open in the morning.

better beaches than Aka and that Tokashiki for a normal beach use. For diving perhaps Aka is better
Port should have more and cleaner facilities for the travellers
300 yen for a 7 minute ride from the port to the beach in a crowded old bus without air condition sounds like a great business for the service operator.

Loved Zamami.
Loved Zamami. Furuzamami had the most amazingly clear water and coral. Village has a nice feel with many restaurant options. Be sure to reserve as we saw many people being turned away as Restaurants were full. We liked Zamami more than Tokashiki. We did diving with JoyJoy who were great with our 12 year old son who had never dived before.

Lovely place for fun with friends or relaxing on your own.
Lovely place for fun with friends or relaxing on your own. It's just a 50 mins boat ride from Naha, but you need to properly check the ferry schedules because they only have limited number of trips to and fro. Their english website also needs to be updated for events, because when we went there (18-19May), most of the restaurants were closed due to Zamami Cup. But we still had a lot of fun on the beach and the sea! Zamami is a good place for sunbathing, snorkelling, glass-bottom-boat riding, stargazing, and walking around town. I would've loved to try the yoga paddle board.

We stayed on Aka, Zamami's smaller neighbour.
We stayed on Aka, Zamami's smaller neighbour. There is one beautiful swimming beach and a tiny town with guesthouses and maybe 2 cafes.
It's perfect if you want to get away from it all and enjoy a slice of paradise
There is only few options to stay at Zamami and this is the best opption. Its newly renovated, only with few rooms (5 I think) but it has all what you need and more. Staff was going beyond the ususal duties to help us out and accomodate any of our needs. Rooftop terrace with nice jacuzzy for colder days and pool in warm days were great. Restaurant offers breakfast, even thou it was only one meal/plate but it was delicious. In the evening restaurant offered hotpot with okinawa beef which was delicious.
Very friendly and helpful staff coordinated with me for my ferry’s arrival time at Zamami. Allowed us to check in early, and begin touring the island. Our room was very comfortable with great Air conditioning & had a unique set up with upstairs access to tables & chairs on the second floor. Hotel included a bar & restaurant on the first floor. Thanks for a great stay in Zamami 🏝️ Also the breakfast in the morning was Oishi before touring the island. A great start to the day
This is THE place to stay in Zamami! It is clean, close to the beach and the food is amazing! But most of all, Miyahira-San and his wife are wonderful hosts! They took such good care of us and went above and beyond our expectations! So friendly, professional and helpful, I highly recommend staying here or at least going to dinner here!
Miyahira-San was a chef in Tokyo for decades, this was by far the best food we had all week!
I had a wonderful time in this place. I was so touched by the name sign Naho San made for me when she picked me up from the port. I enjoyed my stay in the tatami room, the dinner at 38, the breakfast Naho San made for me. a big thank you for her for she helping me to contact my hotel in Onna and Naha when the ferry got canceled. and to Mr Kazu, I’ll try to come back at your birthday in October 😉
I truly enjoyed my stay here at Kanasuba Zamami. Their lovely garden was quiet and beautifully arranged. The owners and employees have a friendly and thoughtful way of treating their guests -from the oldest to the youngest guests. The breakfast was artfully created with each dish offering a special quality. Highly recommend this to a traveler with is looking for a beautiful Japanese experience.
Abe-san and Saori-san were excellent hosts. I arrived much earlier than the usual check-in time and they were happy to accommodate and showed me to my room as soon as I got there. They made dinner each night for us (for 700 yen) and the taco rice was delicious! The island is beautiful, there were very few people there and the guesthouse is a very fun place to stay. I really recommend.
I loved the position, the roof terrace with amazing view and bathtubs, the bathroom with double sink, the food with free alcohol from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, the staff (super kind), the privacy, bike rentals and the extra checkout time. Aka island is truly a small treasure for people who loves nature and silence, our honeymoon was really special.
The location is very close to the port and walking distance to everything you need nearby. The staff was very accommodating. We arrived on the morning Queen Zamami and he let us check in early. He gave a very tasty recommendation for dinner and used Google translate to help with our low level of speaking Japanese.
The Miyahira couple has put a lot of effort into this B&B to make it perfect. We highly recommend visiting Zamami Island and Miyahira. And do not forget to eat there, you will have an amazing experience. It was a great honor to be the first Chinese tourist to visit here.Hope to revisit in the near future.
A nice guesthouse on Zamami island. Conveniently located - just few minutes walk from the harbour and a little bit longer to both beaches. Plenty of restaurants and bars in proximity.
The owner of the place speaks good English and is super helpful. There is also a possibility of renting a snorkel set.
Wonderfully warm and attentive owners who made our stay feel like home. The location by the beach was excellent, the bathrooms were exceptionally clean and spacious and it was nice to have tatami in the bedroom. Also highly recommend the dinners. Will certainly be returning to Akajima and Housei.
Everyone was so friendly and it felt like we were staying with family. They were so helpful and kind. The breakfast and dinner was amazing. The garden was a great surprise also the bikes were too.
It was such a wonderful experience. A must stay for anyone visiting Zamami!!
the staff! some of the most hospitable hosts I’ve ever had! so nice and helpful!
we got it last minute with low expectations, but now this will be our first choice for zamami! so much better than AMA beach cabins!
It is a very humble place with very decent facilities and exceptional cleanliness.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. I do recommend this place to enjoy your time in Zamami island.
Excellent. Clean, very well located, excellent staff and with all facilities for a stay in an island. We could cancel one night for free one day before.
