Ryokan
Ryokan Ryokufuso
600-8323 Kyoto, Kyoto, Shimogyo-ku, Kanayacho 490, Japan – Great location - show map
Location of the ryokan was by a quiet street and within walking distance to most attractions. I enjoyed the complimentary coffee corner in the lobby each morning and quality of onsen is good.

The staff was wonderful and was the highlight of our stay there. Helpful and friendly at every interaction. Wifi available throughout the property.

I usually don’t write comments but for this one I have to! This hotel goes over and beyond their duty to make sure you have a wonderful stay! First off, it is very close to Kyoto station and in an even distance to pretty much all the attractions. The GM upgraded our room to more spacious one so we can really appreciate a ryokan room with ultimate comfort. Also the staff are equally friendly and incredibly caring. The public bath on the top floor is just a little icing on the cake!

Our stay was great. The two greatest aspects of this ryokan are the staff/customer service and the location. The staff were very friendly and exceeded our expectations. They endeavored to speak English the best they could and they took a lot of time to give us recommendations and point things out on a map. It's about 10-15 minutes away from Kyoto station and the Kyoto Tower by foot, so FANTASTIC LOCATION!! Lastly, the ryokan was IMMACULATE.

I had an excellent overnight stay with a pleasant check-in experience and a well-furnished and spacious tatami ryokan-style room. There is a small rooftop (indoor) sento that was nice for a relaxing evening and morning dip. Conveniently located a few minutes walk (or even shorter bus ride) north of Kyoto Station near some restaurants and shrines. There's too much good food in Kyoto so I didn't schedule any meals at the Ryokan.

I love the staff from the desk staff to the cleaning staff. My room was clean and always tidy. I especially love Masa Men, Yuma and Ayami. The three desk staff meet my every day needs from check in, restaurant suggestions and hassle free check out. Also, helped me tshirt sales. Alll in all, I would recommend Ryokan Ryokufuso for your first visit too Kyoto. I especially love the Onsen,so relaxing.

Incredibly friendly and polite staff. Feels a bit oldish but if you want the ryokan experience, it's perfect. Clean and comfy. Shower and toilet in the room. Small onsen available till midnight! Free tea and coffee. Close from the kyoto central train station: 15min walk or bus 50. The neighbourhood is really quiet.

Stylish hotel, tatami mats sliding doors and futon Light onsen, best dressing gown (with instructions) Green tea (but no room coffee)

Gteat experience! Staff were so welcoming! Its obviously not going to be as comfortable as a bed but for one night, its manageable and it exceeded our expectations. We didnt try the bathes or the evening dinner so cannot comment. Shower facilities were great! I would recommend this hotel.

Extremely friendly staff! We had the room on the highest floor and it was very spacious, even with a little indoor balcony that was separated from sleeping room by paper walls. Had the Japanese breakfast one morning, which was very nicely decorated and consisted of a lot of different things. Not really my taste for breakfast but an amazing experience. Used also the hot bath, which was nice after a long day walking in Kyoto.
