Feels like “the real Japan” I enjoyed sitting by the “window” enjoying a beer for at least an hour. The bird song made it idyllic. The clothing and getup is also nice and proper. It has an onsen that is next level, also with an outdoor area that...

Nice room, nice staff, really nice onsen we could use. Beautiful property and glad they had microwave, coffee/tea, kettle, and refrigerator on the tokonamiso property.

Shuttle bus is their own, so when I was running late for the last bus, the driver waited for me at the station. Onsen is just a minute walk away and it’s fabulous, room is fabulous, vending machines had beer. I was very, very happy!

One of the best remote places we've stayed. Mysterious ryokan in the middle of the mountains, with lush greenery, forests, and wonderful onsen. Baths have exceeded our expectations! Wooden 'rotenburo', sauna, - too many words to write to express...

Beautiful onsen. Convenient shuttle bus. Quiet. Large traditional room. Signs of aging, but contributed to the historic traditional feel. I loved the Shoji screens opening up to a lovely garden view.

Google Maps is essential for traveling in Japan! This hotel is in a good location for certain attractions. I traveled alone, and the accommodation had a good environment. The area provides easy access to Tsumago-juku! I took the bus and trains,...

Authentic Japanese room. The onsen in the adjoining hotel was free to use and fantastic! The location in the mountains was beautiful. We were provided with 4 futon beds for 2 of us, meaning we could pile up 2 futons each making it more comfortable...

Fantastic hot springs. You're able to use the sister locations much fancier amenities while paying for the cheaper room. Innkeeper was super awesome and tried his best to help us with train tickets, and shuttle ride to and from the station

The rooms though dated were quite large! The biggest I’ve personally experienced in Japan. The Bath House portion was also fantastic. The night I went I had the hot bath with cool rain falling down. The view was a grand misty forested mountains.
