“The Host is very kind and supportive person. He drove many time to Kawaguchi area and guide us to Shrine and Secret but beautiful route to Waterfall and explained about the Japanese Shrine’s ritual and culture. Cycle was gave for free to roam around the lake side, it is awesome.”

“Umeya Annex is fantastic! It’s the second time I’ve stayed there. Honjo-san is so kind and thoughtful. He went out of his way to make sure that my visit was wonderful. Umeya Annex is incredibly clean and comfortable. The view of Mt. Fuji is beautiful. The nights are silent. The lake is a 20-minute walk away. There are convenience stores within a 10-minute walk, and good restaurants with local cuisine. The Wifi is excellent. Honjo-san picked me up from the station and took me back at the end of my visit. I’m already planning to go again next year!”

“It was a great stay. I could see Mt Fuji with zero effort from my room window and the accompanying balcony (with table and chairs provided). There was even an outdoor bath for use. I believe the host allows free use of bicycles although I got a rental by myself. Honjo-san was very warm, friendly and polite and went out of his way to help me a few times. Amazing stuff. Comfortable futon laid out for you, good solid airconditioner to beat the summer heat, amenities provided included towels, electric kettle, tea, air purifier/dehumidifier, and maps.”

“The owner is super friendly. He gave me a tour of his family’s old traditional house on the same property as the guesthouse! Would recommend for a quiet, relaxed home like feeling. You can see MT Fuji from the room. Although being winter it was freezing cold!!”

“The proximity to Fujisan was ideal, as well as access to the 1,000 year old shrine across the street. The owner was gracious, kind and accommodating. He even offered to meet me at the bus. I was driving and there was ample parking close by. Also, many excellent onsen nearby with outdoor bath for viewing of Mt Fuji. It was comfortable and relaxing.”

“This is my second time staying at Umeya Annex. Honjo-san is a great host. He is 27th generation to live in this beautiful area. The room is spotless clean with a view of Mt Fuji. Comfortable futon. Lovely part of Japan to spend time. I will return to visit again.”

He was very accommodating and he is very knowledgeable about the area concerning what to do and what we could eat. He even let us use the bikes, so we could bike around the lake instead of just taking the bus - something you can't get at other accommodations.”
