The property is traditional with modern touches such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning and plugs for charging devices. It was also very clean and welcoming. The staff are brilliant and very accommodating. I’m so glad I booked this for my overnight stay in Kyoto! I will definitely visit again when I come back to Japan

A very beautiful, peaceful and elegant ryokan tucked in the middle of Kyoto. Close to bus stops, train station and moments away from some delicious food! We had a living room, 2 bathrooms, a very spacious sleeping area and best of all, our own outdoor tub with bamboo garden! Used the tub pretty much every night and it was so tranquil after a long day of walking around and exploring Kyoto. The futons were so comfortable and cozy and I also really loved chilling at the heated table in the living room area. We also got the traditional Japanese breakfast twice during our stay and couldn’t recommend it enough - it was delicious! Everything about the place was superb and I absolutely LOVED staying here - all the amenities including water, tea and even the fresh flowers were well appreciated. The host and staff were so accommodating and wonderful and it felt like staying with family - would love to stay here again the next time I am in Japan.

Amazing location and even though you’re in the middle of the city, it’s tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. The traditional Japanese style house is beautiful and so spacious. The highlight was the traditional outdoor wooden soaking bath. Can’t wait to come back to Japan and stay here again!

Great traditional ryokan experience at a more affordable rate! I love that it came with 2 floors, outdoor shower facilities even though it was too cold for them and they also provide 2 layers of futons per pax! This made sleeping comfortable. My mum in her 60s was able to sleep fine and enjoyed her stay there. Toiletries were great too and they have a capsule coffee machine!

We were treated with care every step of our stay in this beautiful and authentic place. The location is also great, close to a metro station, and has plenty of restaurants and bars nearby while still being hidden from the noise of the main streets. Strongest recommendations!

We spent 3 nights here in one of the beautiful 2 bedroom apartments with a sunny outlook from the second floor, and a lovely outlook over a small internal garden from the 1st floor. We were staying with our 10 year old son so was really useful having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (bathrooms quite big!)! The location is really good - central to everything, but in a really quiet side street. We wanted a traditional ryokan experience and this gave us exactly what we were after! The rooms are beautifully clean and comfortable, especially the futons and the deep soaking tubs. The lady who manages the property was so sweet - extremely welcoming and great English. We felt so well looked after here! They provided a traditional Japanese breakfast on one of the mornings which was a real treat. Would absolutely recommend this beautiful ryokan to stay in Kyoto!
