This guesthouse is a 140 years old renovated traditional Japanese house. It is divided into an open living room wing and a bedroom wing in a traditional Japanese style house. There are two bedrooms with futons for up to six people. The living room wing has a small room suited for remote work, perfect for spending time relaxing and reading a book. On the first floor of the living wing is the owner's café, where you can purchase home-roasted coffee and croissant. This guesthouse is a very old traditional Japanese building. There is air conditioning in each room, but the temperature cannot be adjusted as perfectly as in a hotel. It is not a convenient location with no stores or restaurants nearby. It is a little inconvenient, but highly recommended for those who want to enjoy the tasteful old Japanese house, the countryside, and cooking with local ingredients. There are hot springs and a beautifully landscaped valley nearby. The Niyodo River, one of the clearest rivers in Japan, is a 2-minute walk away. ［Access] 45 minutes by car from Kochi Station, 20 minutes from JR Ino Station. 25 minutes by car from the Ino Interchange on the expressway.

Yananose House is a wooden structure renovated from a 140-year-old Japanese house. The old-fashioned building has some inconveniences, such as the toilet being outside and the air conditioning not working perfectly in midwinter or mid-summer, but there are many fun things to do that you cannot experience at a hotel in town, such as buying local food and cooking your own meals or taking a walk along the Niyodo River. We do not recommend this guesthouse for those who are looking for hotel-like comfort, but for those who want to stay more than 2 nights and enjoy the Kochi countryside, this is the perfect guesthouse for you.
