We absolutely loved every aspect of our stay at the JamboHouse. Arnold welcomes you with a series of recommendations and a welcome drink. The room is cozy, internet and water are working. We were grateful for the information about local restaurants and activities that can be arranged. We did both the sunset walking tour and the dhow sunset tour and enjoyed both of them very much. The view from the terrace is very nice and the breakfast is spectacular. Thank you once again for everything. If we are back in Lamu, we will definitely stay here again.

At the rooftop terrace, there is an additional sunbed on a second layer structure that has a wider view of the city and great to unwind/read. On arrival, the host was quite informative and made it easier to decide on the activities and places to go since I had a day and a half to explore (Lamu needs more days as there are lots to do). The guides he arranged upon my request for the city and sunset tour were informative and hospitable. Note: The property has a lot of activities they can arrange for you at a fair rate. The ultimate favourite was the sunset view at the sand dunes.

JamboHouse Lamu is a small guesthouse in Lamu Town. We are not a 5 star resort - we offer budget accommodation with clean rooms and lots of information to make your stay in Lamu as good as possible. Our delicious breakfast is already included in our rates. We have free wifi internet for our guests. During the day we have free coffee/tea on our terrace. On arrival we serve our guests a Welcome Drink, give them a map of Lamu and plenty of useful information. Two of the rooms have integrated bathrooms, our "budget" room has a private bathroom outside the room (via the corridor) but that bathroom is only for this room (NOT a shared bathroom!)
I live in Lamu since August 2008 and still liking it. It's a fascinating place with unique culture, friendly people, beautiful beaches,... I love traveling.
JamboHouse Lamu is located on one of the highest places in town. From our Top Roof guests have a nice view of Lamu Town, can see sunrise and in certain times of the year also sunset. JamboHouse Lamu is located three minutes walking from Lamu Fort, five minutes walking from Lamu Museum. The closest (local) shop is just 50 m away.
