Katiti N’tamu is a 15-minute walk to Lamu town which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, assigned so, because it is the oldest and best-preserved Swahili settlement in East Africa, with a rich history and strong traditions. Lamu charms with its narrow streets, carved wooden doors, and timeless Swahili culture that has been alive for over 700 years. Stroll through the historic Old Town, sail the turquoise waters on a traditional dhow, and relax on the pristine Shela Beach. Explore nearby treasures like the Takwa Ruins, Lamu Museum, and remote Kiwayu Island. From sunset dhow cruises to the rich flavors of Swahili cuisine, Lamu offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and coastal beauty.
