In the increasingly touristy Watamu, Mida Creek Nature Camp is a stronghold of nature and authenticity. The Camp is down to earth and entirely self built, located in the proximity of the lagoon you'll have the opportunity to mix with the Giriama community and do some exciting excursions in the area. The location is eco-friendly and zero-impact. We solar powered night lights (that you can also charge your phone with), running water and a big tank shower. By all means, our staff will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Come to stay with us and feel the true hospitality of our people!

Surronded by nature, Mida Creek Nature Camp will give you the opportunity to take a deep breath and relax, disconnected from the caos of the streets. Drink some coconut water or some palm wine and take a mellow canoa ride in the mangrove creek or walk among a thousand of tiny crabs in the shallow waters of the lagoon. But if you want to get back to the town, we are available to bring you anywhere you need. If you want you can join us for a canoa ride around the creek. We'll ride as local fishermen do and, with luck on our side, we'll have the chance to enjoy the vibrant bird life of the area with 65 different species populating the generous waters of the creek. After that we'll go deep in the mangrove forest and see the incredible amphibious fishes we call frogfish or mudskipper and the oysters that grow on the roots of these incrediNow is the moment: the sky turns to beautiful shades of pastel colors while the sun shines on every ripple of the water surface, let's wait till it falls behind the Green Island... and let's go back to the Giriama village where you can refresh yourself with a coconut just picked from the palm or a glass of palm wine.
