The Westin Seoul Hotel truly surprised me! I knew to expect a lovely hotel considering the Westin name. However the Westin Seoul far exceeded our expectation. It is truly a 5 star property. The historic hotel is stunning! Very clean, modern and elegant. The best part was the staff. All of them! The staff was so gracious, extremely helpful, worked very hard to assure our satisfaction. The breakfast buffet offered multi-culture options. The happy hour might as well be dinner since the buffet was large and offered so many options with nice liqours and wines with a beautiful view of Seoul skyline. Highly recommend and will stay there again.

A vibrant and interesting city with an endless list of things to do! Lots of inexpensive eateries with local and international food, lots of budget food choices at convenience stores, and lots and lots of fun shops or spots like photobooths to take fun group (or single!) pictures. Plus a wealth of history and culture!

Seoul is an amazing city that mixes the old (north of the Han) and the new (south of the Han).
We managed to visit a lot of places of our interest including museums, palaces, shopping malls and even Lotte World (amusement park).
There is so much to see and do. Taxis (based on 4 travelling) are cheap and a good option to go from places that are far from each other - don't underestimate the time it takes to get from one place to another.
Probably the only consideration is that there are a lot of stairs (including underpasses) and not always lifts so this may affect people with reduced mobility.

We did a quick trip from Japan to Seoul (3 full days) since it was only a 2 1/2 hour flight, why not :) Wish we had more time in Seoul to explore so plan your days according to area/location. Most "to do" are scattered all over Seoul so you will need at least a day in each area/location like Myeondong, Itaewon, Bukchon, Cheonggyecheon to name a few. Each area will take you about 30 minutes by train depending on your home base hotel. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes....Get ready for walking, steps, trains and maybe taxis. For the 3 days we visited the Lotte World area, Coex Aquarium, Starfield Coex Library, N. Seoul Tower, Banpo bridge at night for the rainbow water lights, Gwangjang market for local Korean food stalls, Myeondong shopping district, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and some underground train shopping areas. Food experience anywhere but our favorite was Lotte Department store food level in Myeondong. You MUST visit Olive Young for Korean skin care. WISH we had MORE time but will return.

I thought it might be difficult because I don't speak Korean, but everyone I met was kind and helpful, I they did not speak English they went out of their way to find me someone who did. I saw a lot and really enjoyed the trips I went on and the street markets and just the differences from home. I found the found fresh and healthy.

Wasn’t expecting to feel so relaxed in a city of 10 and a half million people but felt very relaxed
, the transport system is great and cost to eat out is good. I am definitely going back and plan visiting more cities as spent majority of time in Seoul with a couple of days in Busan. Only negatives are the smell of sewage at times and impossible to buy good flat white coffee.
This is by far my favorite hotel in South Korea. It's located in the heart of my favorite place (Myeondong). Nearby there (walking just 1 or 2 min) you can find tons of restaurants e cafes. The hotel is also minutes from famous brands stores (like Nike, Mlb, 8Seconds) and so on. It's also minutes away from the nearest subway station and you also can find all the main banks. The hotel facilities are great and clean, the rooms are cozy and quiet, and the staff are very kind and always there to help you with anything.
I loved my stayed in Koreana Hotel. The room was so beautiful and spacious. I know some ppl complained about the dim lights but it was fine with me. The room was so clean and it had the nice warm toilet. There is microwave upstairs. There is a convenience store right next door. The train station is 5 minutes walking. And you can book a bus to the airport from the front desk. Everyone was super friendly and they all spoke English which I was grateful because I barely speak Hangul. Anyway, I loved my stay here 😊.
The room is comfortable, clean, and complete. I love that this is a Japanese style hotel with separate toilet and bath. The toilet has bidet. Even the toilet in the reception area also has bidet. Pajama is also provided and also humidifier. Amenities are excellent. Location is superb, easy to get bus, taxi, very close to Namdaemun market and within walking distance to Myeongdong (15-20 minutes). Subway is around 10 minutes walk. The staff speaks good English, Japanese, and Korean.
It’s about 10-15 mins away from Lotte department, Myeongdong shopping street, Deoksugung palace, City Hall train station, Olive Young, No brand burger, Mcdonald’s, several convenience stores, cheap delicious Korean restaurants, local coffee shops (ex. Ediya coffee), 3 Starbucks stores, Cheongye stream, Egg drop, and Airport Limousine bus stop. Then about 20-30 minutes away from the Gyeongbokgung palace where you can get in free if you rent from one from the Hanbok rentals nearby.
I like this place. No frills. nothing fancy. Firstly, it tells you before you book that this hotel is cheap and humble and not to expect 5 star luxury. With that in mind I expected worse. It wasn't too bad at all. Good location if you want to be near Gangnam. It is very close to the metro station. The host was very nice and showed me around. The room was small but would have been smaller if there had been a washroom there. The upside to having a shared bathroom in a goshiwan.
I liked basically everything about this hotel. Location was exceptional, my room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, the bathroom was well thought out (taking a shower didn't make the whole bathroom wet) and I even got a pretty nice view. I have stayed at 4 different hotels during my vacation in South Korea and this one was by far the most enjoyable. Also, kudos to the reception staff as they were very polite and spoke English remarkably well.
We loved this hotel. The hotel is right at the exit of a metro station with 3 different metro lines (especially the line 5 that connects it to Gimpo airport).
Our room was big and very clean and well organized
There is a nice rooftop, and the breakfast is both international and Korean.
It is really close to the main historical buildings of the city and the neighborhood is safe and with a lot of restaurants.
I would definitely suggest it.
We stayed in this hotel on its opening day. As soon as we entered the hotel, we were greeted by the most friendly staff. The hotel also smelt amazing. We stayed in a two bed room on the top floor. It was a good size, the beds some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, with a lovely balcony and great views. So well located; by the shops, South Korea gate, palace, train station... I would highly recommend this hotel.
One of the best hotels I've stayed in. We tried 3 hotels in Seoul and this is our no.1 choice. The hotel's interior is super chic and huge space. Everything you need is there and more. Truly a luxury 5 star hotel. Every staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities are superb. The location is perfect and the subway station is literally beside it. It is a bit pricey compared to other 5 star hotel, but it's worth it.
The location was great! Everything is near the hotel: subway, restaurants, convenience stores like e-mart, CU, 7/11! You can walk to many places on foot. Its very convenient.
The hotel room is small and cute. I travelled alone but its okay for 2 people too. Everything i needed was in there
The staff also very very nice and friendly and helpful!
Thanks to this hotel i enjoyed ,my trip to South Korea!!!
Very nice and helpful front desk. Room cleaning is everyday, they will change your towels make up room etc. The guards at night are very nice, will help you with luggage etc. It was my first time in Seoul, and I can recommend this hotel to stay. You have subway near, a lot of korean restaurants around, coffes and shops. It is easy to come back to hotel at night (there is night bus stop near).
It is the third time for me in ORAKAI Insadong Suites , I feel comfortable to stay here ,, they have a lovely and helpful staff ( security guys, reception staff , clean’s lady and administration)
They have clean suites , the location of the Orakai is near to attractions place , bazar and metro stations, whenever I will visit south Korea . for sure I will stay here ,,,
We chose this location for last night in Seoul before flying back to Europe and it was a perfect choice.
The hotel is situated by Seoul's subway so it takes just a few minutes to get to Airport Line from hotel. Very comfortable beds, beautiful views. Personnel was nice and friendly, great service, really recommend! Best hotel we stayed at during our South Korea trip.
new modern room, nice bathroom with beautiful bathtub, friendly and helpful staffs, and 30 second walk to tube line 9, which will take you to Gangnam in no time. I visit parents in Korea a few times a year and each time I stay two weeks or so. I found this hotel during my visit in Jan and already stayed twice and more to come!
Room size is good and decent. Location wise, it’s near to the subway and airport limousine bus stop. Lots of eateries and a convenience store at the lobby. Self laundry at B3. Nothing to complain about. Will choose to stay at this hotel again should I visit Korea again
Grand Hyatt Seoul is old, but has been one of the best hotels in Korea for a very long time. It has everything you can get from a top hotel including various restaurants, bars, ice skating rink, outdoor/indoor swimming pool, with a great view of either Namsan or Seoul.
Location is excellent, room is comfy, modern and clean
Services is beyond 5 star hotel. Love it so much!
The staff is all very nice and speak very goid english. Will definitely back to this hotel if we come to korea.
The location of the hotel is very convenient, the room is clean, the staff at the counter are very considerate, and the service is warm. I will choose to stay next time I go to Korea。
it’s new we were the first to stay in the room but the hotel is still ironing out the kinks so there were a few lapses with service and it’s feels more like a 4 star than a 5 star
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and spoke English which was helpful. The bathroom was modern and larger than some other hotels in South Korea.
