This is a very charming hotel and an oasis of calm in the city of Colombo. There's plenty of places to sit, relax and enjoy. I stayed in two different rooms and they each have their own charm, albeit the Queen room was a little small (if traveling by two) and the bed less comfortable than in the King suite, which was truly beautiful. The staff was welcoming and able to arrange for an early check-in which I appreciated after a long flight to Colombo.

Staying at De Saram house was a wonderful experience and a beautiful end to our vacation. The staff were so friendly, especially mr. Anthony who showed us around this beautiful architecture by Geoffrey Bawa. The rooms are super clean and so are the rest of the spaces. Breakfast was great!

This is a remarkable opportunity to stay in a house designed by one of the world's great architects. The garden setting, a series of courtyards with bird song, is a serene break from the bustle of Colombo. The staff are gentle and helpful. The rooms are unique with huge ceilings and beautiful lighting - we slept well here. And in the morning a delicious breakfast of local food in a grand, sunny dining room designed by Geoffrey Bawa. I can't recommend this more highly.
