Location. On a lovely surf beach. Public beach so you can see local families enjoying a day out but no hassle. Not crowded at all. Next to railway station for trip to Galle. Good local restaurants short walk away.. Easy to walk to river to do a cruise or take a Tuk Tuk to Lunuganga or elsewhere. I am also very thankfull for an early check in as I arrived at 4.30am.

Francewhat is there not to like! the location is stunning, hotel and rooms are attractive, modern and spacious and very comfortable! the staff here are above anything we have experienced anywhere else in the world. they are attentive, kind, friendly and make you feel like family and they enjoy the fact you are here. my partner was planning to propose and discussed with the hotel to book a private beach dining experience (stunning!). staff not only facilitated this but made everything so special and even upgraded our room to their luxury bawa suite, an experience we will be forever grateful for!

Also mr Jayantha & Ranjan as well as the cleaning staff. All the staff were exceptional.
South Africanice location on Bentota beach, which has lovely sand and clear blue sea (quite strong waves). the hotel is nice and clean, with large pools and coconut grove to sunbath under. food at the hotel was good, although we chose to eat out most evenings, and recommend island seafood restaurant (prawn curry) staff were all very friendly and helpful, and always looking to help to provide whatever you needed

Avani Bentota Resort is located on the best beach strip along Sri Lanka’s western coastline. The property is 61.5 miles from Bandaranaike International Airport and 41 miles away from the city of Colombo.
Designed by world-renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa, who took inspiration from an 18th-century Dutch village. The property has a contemporary feel and offers a tropical island beachside haven. Avani Bentota Resort houses two outdoor pools and ample parking facilities.
The luxury guest rooms feature modern designs furnished with an executive desk, 42” flat screen television, luxury amenities and complimentary Wi-Fi. Each room has a private balcony or courtyard facing the ocean.
Guests can choose from the extensive multi-cuisine buffet that is on offer at the Breeze Restaurant or for contemporary Asian cuisine head over to the Frangipani Restaurant and experience bold flavors in specialty dishes. The hotel’s watering hole Chatters Bar offers live entertainment and the best of local and international spirits & cocktails along with pub grub food.
