Trakai is a super relaxing place to visit.
Trakai is a super relaxing place to visit. Many do it as a day trip from Vilnius, but I spent four nights there. The weather was glorious so there was a boat trip, swimming and plenty of walking. I was there to explore the Karaim and their culture. The castle museum is certainly worth a visit.

It is a small town and during summer the place is packed.
It is a small town and during summer the place is packed. The beach front is full with restoranes and it is not easy to get a table. When you go to the other side of the streat it is much easier to find a table and I suspect, that the food even might be better. The lake is full with different atractions to chose from and all not very expensive. The castle is a place you must see, even if the ticket is a bit expensive. The stores we found were little and not much variety in food or drinks.. I was there for one day only, surely more days are needed in order to explore everything.

Wonderful historical place, lots of photoshoot locations,...
Wonderful historical place, lots of photoshoot locations, interesting museum collection and music concerts in the castle hall. Moderate entrance fee and a big variety of souvenirs for reasonable prices. Tasty local cuisine and many lakes around. A medieval lover dream :)
- walking distance from Trakai Castle and many (good) restaurants
- beautiful view from the terrace
- room has everything you need for a stay (mini fridge, clean, comfortabele beds...)
- easy free parking in front of the house
- authentic atmosphere
- host is very friendly and helpful and lives nextdoors in case you need anything or have questions, but also monitors that it is quiet at night
Location just a few minutes walking from Trakai castle....in the attic of an old historic Trakai house. Check in was easy through simple instructions via telephone. Appartment is big with many rooms, everything working perfect including Wifi and hot water. Private parking available in the neighbor's backyard for 5€ per day. Nothing to complain.
Always good to be back!
Excellent hotel. Great service. Amazing views.
The room with the terrace was very spacious, clean, and had the amenities we needed. Breakfast was delicious and with many choices. The people in the reception were very helpful, professional and friendly. The location is great- in the beautiful forest by the lake. I definitely recommend it.
It was a pleasant experience. The only quip we had, was about the not fully cleaned bathroom (with some hair in it), and the linoleum floor had not been mopped for certainty - not a big deal wore shoes or slippers around.
I do wish the sauna was accessible easier, versus needing to book it ahead of time - even as it sits empty near the lake (no big deal).
The hotel is in the countryside by a lake. The location is quiet and beautiful. You will need a car to get there (or a taxi). About 3 miles from Trakai Water Castle which is situated on another beautiful (big) lake with quirky, stalls and eateries. Alternatively, Vilnius is about 30 minutes by car,
Best location close to Trakai, an outstanding welcome and individual (!!!) breakfast, very good hints from host, very clean and lovely rooms, a nice farmhouse hotel concept, parking at the house, WiFi, frogs singing, a beaver-watching bench...
A round package with a very charming landlord. 😍
Very clean and new property with closed in yard on the shore of the lake, nice walk by the lake to the center of town and Trakai castle (1 mile away). Helpful and friendly owner, good wi-fi, secured parking, walking distance to the train station.
Everything...so clean and quiet. It is the best location and deal you can get in Trakai. The view is absolutely stunning. It is 12mins walk to the castle, exactly where the tourist are parked. Offers free parking too.
Exceptional location in front of Trakai Castle, good complex with spa, restaurant and bar included, very comfortable attic rooms and parking available. Walking distance to the key sights and very friendly personnel.
Location, Location, Location! The property is in the center of Trakai, walk the lake, castle, restaurants, shopping, activities. Loved it. The owner was very nice. Comfy bedding.
Location is very good. There is a grocery store near by and very good restaurant called Senkelio Karčema. It is a 30 min walk to old town or 5 min drive.
