We have really enjoyed our stay in A Secret Garden. The owners are very friendly, helpfull and hospitable. We can also recommend to have dinner here, it was very good. The location and the view from the balcony are great!
NetherlandsI will put it here to contrast with other comments that see this aspect as negative, the secret garden is indeed a bit secret and not that easy to find without sign but in a small village not that complicated at all and only a <100 meters from the road; keep that way! The host is very nice and helpful. He is preparing food for dinner and breakfast if you want (not for free) and we enjoyed sharing dinner with him and other guests. Beers are also available. Place is clean, cozy with a beautiful view on the oasis and mountains (gorge not visible from there)

Natalie and Daniel are very friendly, cook delicious meals and have all needed information about climbing and hiking. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, shower is excellent and there are nice common areas for eating and relaxing, as well as a rooftop for yoga classes.

Rooms are really cosy with balcony and nice views. Most people seem to stay only for a night, passing through. We booked two nights and stayed three, since there is so much to do. The house belongs to the guy who runs the outdoor shop next door, where you can rent rock climbing equipment. Nobody seems to know that rock climbing here is fantastic. There is also a short (30min) Via Ferrata, hikes and horse back riding. Secret Garden is the perfect place to stay...

We had a great stay with a couple of memorable walks thanks to Natalie and Daniel’s help. We really appreciated the friendly atmosphere as well as the lovely food that was prepared for us.

Opened only since end of 2017. We welcome you to our true guest house: a calm and intimate refuge for your stay in the Todgha Gorge. The spacious, south-facing rooms are flooded with natural light, and boast private balconies from which you can enjoy views of the river below and the high cliffs soaring above. Our large terrace overlooking the shaded garden is the ideal place to relax in the evening (it's also the only place in the gorge where you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer!). Built in 2017 from only natural materials like bricks, lime, earth, straw, and plaster, our house stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Water is heated by a solar panel and, thanks to the generous North African sun, hot water is always readily available. As a traditional guesthouse, we share our dinners around one table. We find that guests enjoy the communal atmosphere and the opportunity to meet and discuss with new people from around the world. We prepare meals using only fresh ingredients -- some of which are grown in our own garden.
Julio and Emily operate Aventures Verticales Maroc, a society based in Todra Gorge since 2010. Our main activities are building and maintaining climbing routes in the gorge and we produce a climbing guide book, now in its 4th edition. As the only accredited and trained mountain sports instructor in the area, we also guide and instruct climbing, mountaineering, and via ferrata (which we built in 2016). We own the only climbing and outdoor equipment shop in the gorge where you can find equipment for rent or purchase. We are ecologically-conscious people and take great pride in our house and our garden. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!
The house is located at the entrance of the Todgha Gorge in the village of Tizgui, at the edge of the river gardens. The environment is calm and peaceful. The gorges are only 8 minutes walk either by road or by footpaths in the gardens. From your base at A Secret Garden you can enjoy world-class rock climbing in the Todra Gorge, as well as ample opportunities for hiking, mountaineering, walking, and horse riding. The weather is agreeable year-round. In winter, the sun remains warm, and in summer, the shaded and breezy interior of the gorge offers a refuge from summer heat.
