It's a lively nice town on South Morocco. There ain't much arts and crafts to shop, like in the North. However, the beach is not overcrowded, and there is a restaurant with cold bear and fresh seafood nearby. Also, check for the oysters /grill fish, before arriving. At the village there are many local restaurants for ground meat, skewers, fish tajines, and the other usual dishes. Most of them are good and inexpensive.
For the ones coming for the water-sports, beware that the usual entry point for the lagoon is nearly 30 km away. That can be done in 20 min, easily. Also, for those planning to drive there, from the north, watch out for the police checks at the road, on the previous village. They extort the foreigners. Be sure that you stop when you see the stop / halt sign and only restart when they ask. You will have to stop twice, to avoid the ticket: one at the sign, and other near them. The Police controls near Dakhla, were normal.

Don't trust most of the hosts with their beautiful pictures as the true is different most of the time.
I will suggest to ask questions before booking and make sure they stick to their answers and then in case you are not happy when there then they can upgrade you or give you a better deal....

Get some tea and Ilk for souvenirs from the Medina, and introduce yourself to kitesurfing if you have a week to spare, otherwise try oysters at Talha Mar and go on a desert circuit up to Imlili and back through Puerto Rico beach and the White Dune. Dakhla is phenomenal.

The town is not particularly interesting.
The town is not particularly interesting. Almost no remnants of its Spanish past remain. No beach in town. Lots of modern buildings. Surprisingly windy. A few good restaurants especially Villa Dakhla on the waterfront and a stone’s throw from Hotel Mansour where I stayed

Dakhla is a remote area where I did find hotel accommodations more expensive than other regions of Morocco. In order to visit the highlights of the region, one needs to take excisions or rent a car. My favorite times were exploring the remote beach and dune incredibly gorgeous areas. Ah and the fish cuisine was amazing especially at Tal Ha Mar!! And life was as though COVID had been left somewhere else!!
It was just two days but we definitely felt it. The hotel is so quiet and marvellous with a huge space and incredible design.
Selina’s concept triggers clients to change their mindset towards tourism. Simply when you are there, you fell that you are existing and valued by their welcoming staff.
Starting with Hicham who is so friendly and supportive for the clients, then Adnan, Bilal and the chef Imad.
I just would like to say thank you so much for all of you for spending such a wonderful staying.
WiFi was very good.lots of film and sports channels on the TV. Good window view of the sea. Restaurants right next door and a few roads on the left from the place. Come out of the hotel and turn left. Cross over the road and a bit further down you will come to a corner shop selling drinks, cigarettes etc. Opposite that corner shop is a market road that has some good cheap food outlets and more corner shops. Tasty meat and sausages grilled at the top of the road from guys with vending cart.
we had a great stay in this lovely apartment . the welcome was very warm, the owner was very attentive, helpful and very responsive. The apartment was very functional, very clean, everything was available. The wi-fi works very well. Residence well located, close to markets and amenities. we recommend the residence with eyes closed for a good stay in Dakhla and thank Mr. Mohamed for his hospitality and generosity.
The round trip to the airport is reassured. Very kind.
La Crique Nature & Spa is an extremely well run hotel. Enormous room (big enough to fit at least 4 comfortably), beautifully manicured gardens, stunning pools, and one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had! The staff was on top of everything and I’m ever so grateful for their efforts to accommodate my dietary needs. Also appreciate the welcome plates of fresh and dried fruits and nuts. The seamless WiFi was a revelation!
The hotel as a whole is a place full of local drunk people and hookers , despite the covid curfew which starts at 11, loud music remains until 3 to 4 am in the morning. The staff especially a lady called Faten lacks respect and shows a negative attitude towards young guys.
If an invitee is coming to see you in your suite which they already charged yo 350 euros they don’t let them in until they get 350 euros extra.
I can really only recommend the hotel to all guests who are really looking for a sophisticated place.
The attitude of the staff towards the guests is really fantastic and excellent. Really thanks for constantly working to keep the entire hotel complex clean and tidy.
Special thanks for the constant kind service in the restaurant for Lamia, and in the reception for Buscrah.
See you guys in January.
I had such a nice time at the Yellow House. Extremely friendly and intimate, family-ran business. I cannot fault it in any regard. It's conveniently close to the airport and right on the water front. I was invited to join the owner and her friends for dinner in the dining area with drinks and good banter afterwards. If you want personal service and local knowledge about Dakhla this is your place.
Breakfast was just basic nothing much to ask but i did get fried egg when asked service and staff are good always greeting and smiling, location is very good right opposite the corniche there are cafes and shops and walkable distance, don't go by the photos of the hotel thank god we got a room with a small balcony facing the corniche will not stay there again unless i carry a fan with me
Very Friendly staff!
- Clean and nice bathroom
- The kbc school (facilities and equipment) and its staff had been incredibly awesome, and the kite spot directly in front of the hotel is just perfect.
- If you like kitesurfing and the hotel organizing loud entertainment for you in the evening, this is a great spot (although not cheap!).
This apartment has everything you need. The owner is very friendly and will help if you need anything. The place has a good location. All around there are many small supermarkets. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the hotel, this is the place for you.
I had the most amazing 4 days in this hotel, mind blowing location, super clean, food amazing, staff attentive and always there to assist you. I met amazing people and they have so many interesting activities on board. I would come back every time im in Dakhla 🤩
Spacious comfortable room with terrace overlooking the sea .
Nice furniture and furnishings make the hotel homely.
Delicious breakfast , very fresh with good choice .
Friendly owner and staff who can provide information about Dakhla.
The owner treats the staff so humanly that it almost made me forget about people having COVID staying at the hotel, eating with us at the restaurant and being selfish!!!
Poor management for activities …
The staff was friendly, attentive, helpful and wonderful all of them but SALWA was above and beyond our expectations. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family .
Great property. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Really good location and close to the airport. Would definitely stay again if ever return to Dakhla.
