Very nice city. I travel to Budva so often and love being there.
For the first time visitors, I recommend that they'd better choose summer season so that they can have much more fun and enjoy the environment (in and out of the city) and of course swimming.
The old city is quite unique day and night. You can have especially dinner at restaurant Jadran just by the sea. Next to this restaurant, there is a pub, named Bike and Beer. Its owner is the same of the restaurant. You may spend a night in there and enjoy the music which is performed by two grumpy looking elderly men. To me, they are perfectly play their guitars and sing.
Babaloo is a snack restaurant and bar. They have a very satisfying menu. This place is on the ground floor of TQ Plaza, the only shopping mall of the city.
Should you try your luck, you can visit the casino in the Splendid Hotel, ten minutes away from the city by taxi.
Inside of the old city walls, there shops and pubs. You can spend some time in one of them.
And more... To be honest, I'm tired of writing.
Go and see. You'll understand why I love Budva.
Do not stay only in Budva. Visit the other cities on the cost of Kotor Bay which is the only fjord in Mediterannean sea; Kotor, Tivat, Petrovac, Perast, HerzegNovi.
Please do travel up to Zabljak, a city towards to Serbian border in north. Visit Durmitor Natural Park and Tara Canyon (2nd in the world and the biggest in European) and try zip-line... On the way up to Zabljak, you may visit Ostrog Monastry that is placed on one side of a hill like it's curved in the rocks.

Budva is a convenient stop between entry to Crna Gora from Hrvacka and arrival at the South of the country, I had an appointment in the town; once that was fulfilled I had little incitement to explore further.

Overpopulated, busy, loud, jammed, boring and too expensive.
Overpopulated, busy, loud, jammed, boring and too expensive. There's a helicopter waking the whole town up every weekend, every day, every hour. Go to Tivat or Herceg Novi instead for a peaceful and nice vacation.

It is nice to see the Old Town, have a walk there and have a dinner there. But that's it. Besides the old town Budva is not an atmospheric place: loud and dirty. I would recommend to go to some more friendly place for a longer stay.

Budva is such a great destination for any kind of tourist: solo traveler, couple, family, group of friends, if you prefer a more chill type of holiday or active - there is something for everybody. I loved being surrounded by mountains 24/7 and clear blue Adriatic Sea which is stretching as far as the eye can see! Would definitely recommend going there in September (the month I was there) since it is for sure less crowded and much more enjoyable!

Main problem of this lovely located town is very old public facilities and garbage everywhere; local authorities collets lot of many from the tax paid by every tourist, but I doubt these money are invested back in the tourism (shame); prices in resteaurants (especially for drinks) are 2-3 times bigger than in Venice (for example), but empty places there saying that is wrong policy; Bulgaria offers much more cheaper seafood and salads, so local people should consider what they do, as in the end only Russians will come over here (already too many of them)
I booked a room last minute on the same day of my arrival and it turned out perfect! The manager is very kind and helpful. He is always available for advice and help. The view from the room is breathtaking! What I liked the most is that every room has its private bathroom and there is a common area with a kitchen and a balcony where you can socialize with other guests. The beach down the hill is the best I've seen in Montenegro. Highly recommend it for you stay in Budva (5 mins by car from the old town).
We really enjoyed our stay in Montenegro! The hotel is very cleaned and has all the facilities. Breakfast was amazing! When we arrived at the hotel, 2 young girls in the reception treat us very bad, and even not look in our eyes. However, later in the evening 2 other ladies spoke to us nicely and we were very surprised why the young ladies in our check in were so rude with us! We are a family travelling with a 1 year old baby, and he loved the place as well! Great for families, quite place!
We have been travelling Europe and made last minute decision to visit a Montenegro. Planned another city but cruise ship was there so headed to Budvar. Not stayed in hotel this trip so we decided to go for this place as had a great location and parking!
Staff great at check in. Hotel inside was incredible and the bedroom was the luxury I needed. Shower incredible.
Breakfast was nice, no interaction from staff which was disappointing.
Starting from day 1 until the end of our stay, everything was exceptional, hotel staff, Hemingway cafe waiters with their welcoming beautiful smile! Hotel in fantastic location at the old town, walking distance to Mogren Beach! I had breakfast, lunch and dinner, Food was tasty and divine…Room was clean equipped with nice espresso machine and coffee for free on daily basis! If I will come back to Budva, def I will come to this hotel
If you want to have the same comfort conditions of your own home in your travels, Hostel Budva is exactly the true address for Montenegro (especially with their tasty and free breakfasts). You can find what you need easily by the help of its great location. You'll feel the sincerity of the owners. Even if you lose money in Bitcoin, i am sure they will try their best to help you)) And lovee youuu Nero)))
The environment, the hospitality of the staff and the food in the restaurant have been all amazing. The hotel has like the best view of Budva coast and you should do yourself a favor by staying at one of their sea-view rooms. The hotel has its own beach and it is super close to other attractions as well. Highly recommend to everyone who would like to wake up to a Adriatic view and run to the beach!
Guest house andrea is best of the best for Budva!
People are so nice and they can be the most friendly people in all Montenegro. Many thanks to Marco and his lovely family! You should definitely stay in Guest House Andrea. I traveled more than 50 countries around the world and I couldn’t see the lovely and friendly people like house owner Marco and his family! Thank you so much for everything!
Villa is very beautiful.
Big rooms; very well arranged. Clean white sheets.
Air conditioned.
Kitchen is fine equipped.
Free parking place at the property.
Close from market/supermarket.
Very communicative owner (many thank to Danilo).
Not far away from beach.
Becici have the most fine beaches in Montenegro, by my opinion.
Close from Budva which is the most animated seaside resort.
Great, Great place ...such peace and wonder there...from the beginning to the end this was a great vacation...great staff, food, coffee and pool!
You have to go there!
They have highly trained professionals staff at Salvija Budva Hotel, very helpful and polite, especially MARINA - she’s the best. Great hospitality !!
A very comfortable and nice boutique hotel, you feel comfort and style in every single corner of it. People who run and work in the hotel are amazing- they make your stay in the hotel memorable with their service and friendly talks. Thanks a lot, if we come back to Budva it will be a pleasure to stay here again!
Dragan is really helpful. If you need anything, just ask him and he'll definetely run for it. I had problems with bus and train bookings, he called the railway company of Montenegro, and made a reservation for us. He was a life saver. Another time, hope to see him. Thanks for everything.
Everything was perfect. Location, the view and house. And owners of houses were so nice. He was so helpful, even he gave many tips to travel around of Budva. Thanks to him, we went to the best beach of Montenegro that we havent seen on internet. Thank you for everything!
The hotel is right in the heart of budva.. in the middle of everything close to the old town of budva and the beach .. very good quality for 4 star hotel! Staff amazing and so helpful from reception to restaurant staff! Parking was great too in the basement
The property was very close to the main beaches, which is one of the main reasons to visit southern Montenegro 🇲🇪 , furthermore the host offered to do our laundry for a very small fee. Parking close to the hotel is very easy as they have their own spots.
Good location close to Old Town. Sea is close, too, but still need to walk (there is only 1 hotel in Budva which is located right at the beach, and it's much more expensive).
They have animation during summer months; breakfast is OK 7AM-10AM.
It is a wonderful place to have a few days family stay in Budva. Very friendly staff, quick check in, clean rooms, tasty breakfast, warm atmosphere. Hotel is placed near Jazz Beach. I recommend this hotel if you travel by car.
Location was very well, even you do not need a car in Budva. They have parking place also, it is so impotant because parking is problem in Montenegro. Workers are so kind, if you need any help they help immediately.
The location was very convenient and beautiful. We had the beach 2 min walk, restaurants right next to the hotel and amazing views of Budva. Staff was amazing and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
