Experiencing living in a stilt house in Inle Lake is a must and there is no better way to do this than at Golden Cottages,Nampan. A lovely welcome when the boat pulls in, the warmth of the staff, the beautifully designed property, the attention to detail in the rooms make this a great stay. It takes an hour's boat from Nyaung Shwe, however, it is a good start to the Lake tour itself as majority of the things to do on the Lake are close to the hotel. If you are concerned about being tied down to only the Hotel's restaurant, fret not, the food is amazing especially the pork and tofu. A special mention to the bartender who makes some super cocktails at sunset and otherwise. All the staff are from the local Pa.O tribes so staying here contributes to the local community.
IndiaThe location was beautiful, quiet, and authentic. The staff was friendly and helpful. We appreciated that this was truly local, which most of the hotels on the lake are not.
