Did you know Melia hotel staff was asking me 5USD for the key card accidently lost. I told him I was not willing to pay so he checked with his manager (I could mention his name here). His manager said to me that is Melia hotel policy! WOW! I work in oil & gas industry, travel everywhere Asia America Africa Europe Australia.
This is the first time the hotel staff tried to rip off. But I didn't pay, I was 100% i left my key in my room, so get a new key went up grab my key in the hotel and came back straightaway. Handed 5USD key card back to the hotel staff.
After a couple of days I met the manager again and confirm "that is what Melia hotel.management is implementing ".
So twp things
1 stay away from the Melia OR
2 keep your key card safe
I will do the first one because I always misplace my key card.
It is up to you.

it's a city with lots or remembrances about the colonial times, overall in a very poor condition and in dire need of several infrastructure projects. The list of sightseeings consists of temples and markets, so... to my taste it's void. One day of walks through the city center will give you a proper taste of Yangon and there's not much left to do. Even the military museum got moved to Nay Pyi Taw.

Museum very interesting, Swedagon pagoda exceptional
Plenty of restaurants for all tastes
Yangon have a lot of best place to visit. For Muslims, just find any Halal Restaurant, my choice is Phai Lin Halal really clean and good food. In Yangon, very easy to get GrabCar and really cheap rate to everywhere. Please ensure you bring USD and change Myanmar money at Airport or money changer booth only, no change at local people very expensive. Only few people can speak English, most of them not understand basic English. However, Yangon is best city to visit.

Vibrant city for all seasons.
Vibrant city for all seasons. I love green and the country's largest economic city still have many trees all over. There are many delicious street food in Yangon too. Selling price is amazingly low that my colleagues and I extremely enjoyed.
Everything! The location is perfect - just across the beautiful Kandawgyi Royal Lake. The hotel is connected to a shopping center, cafes and restaurants. All the staff from the front desk to the restaurant staff to the housekeeping to the hotel manager demonstrated top-notch customer service. I booked a deluxe and got a suite like room at an executive level. My room is very spacious with a separate living room, a dressing room, a working space, and a huge bathroom overlooking the lake. I wish I had stayed longer here. The best hotel in Yangon!
Wonderful interior design in a modern style. The rooms are cozy and easy to stay longer. The breakfast is outstanding and you might start easily with it into the day in downtown Yangon. The window will shop you great views at the city and is also possible to open (not always the case in SEA). The restaurant will make you feel more than welcome. You can feel in every aspect that the managing staff is really experienced!

This was my first time at the hotel and I loved my stay there. The rooms were very good. The location is excellent (close to many attractions). The staff were cordial, responsive, and speak very good English. The breakfast of limited items but good ( there are many restaurants near the hotel)
