Great area if you want to stay away from the crowds of Valetta, especially after a hard day visiting the capital. Great for restaurants by the water.
Loved the architecture and the residential "real life" feel of Senglea.

Senglea is a charming residential area of Malta.
Senglea is a charming residential area of Malta. You will need to take a cab or the boats to see Valletta or other areas. If you want a relatively quiet residential settting with some restaurants within walking distance, you may enjoy Senglea. If you want a more active nightlife, easy access to shopping, etc., you will likely want to stay somewhere in Valetta, Sliema, St. Johns. Access around Senglea (most of Malta) is not for those who are not willing to walk alot, climb elavations, etc. Lovely place, just be prepared for lots of walking!

The accommodation is excellent and a fantastic personal approach to the guests. That makes you fill good. There are two guest accessible rooftop areas, the uppermost providing you with incredible views of the Three Cities, Valetta and Grand Harbour. The hosts, Eric and Michael were absolutely wonderful.

This part of Malta is quiet, unspoilt and totally Maltese.
This part of Malta is quiet, unspoilt and totally Maltese. Fantastic Architecture, amazing Churches and a mesmerising Harbour full of small boats, huge yachts and ships. No towering Hotels, no nightclubs and no lounge singers!! The location is perfect for strolling to local bars, cafes & restaurants in Senglea. Take time out with a coffee and pastizzi to take it all in. If you want a dip in the Grand Harbour, then you are only 5 mins away, as right at the end of Sengela you can sunbath on the rocks and swim in the sea, without a grain of sand getting in your shorts! A short 15 walk into Birgu, opens up more sightseeing, restaurant & cafes, not to forget the water taxi to Valletta, a wonderful capital city that is not to be missed. From there you can get a bus to most major towns on the island. A further 20 mins walk will take you to Kalkara, with yet more to experience. Take your swimmers as right at the end it its small, quiet, clean and sandy beach, Rinella Bay a favourite with the locals.

It seemed to be the perfect suburb of Valletta to stay in, not too rowdy or noisy, and not too many throngs of tourists, yet still plenty of waterside restaurants, plenty of scenery, easy to access other parts of town, and full of historic & beautiful architecture. It made me feel like I had visited the 'real' & authentic Malta.
Location is fantastic, everything you need is there. Love the roof Terrace, the bed is super comfortable. Wi-Fi was great- stable and fast enough to make VoIP calls and work when I need it to. The hosts are wonderful. Provided lots of great information on checking in, went above and beyond when my flight came in late and then when I was checking out and left something in the room I needed to go back for. Very convenient to get the ferry or the bus from this apartment. Makes it easy to explore Malta from here
This is a terrific location: in the very authentic neighbourhood of Senglea, close to the waterfront (restaurants - we recommand "Enchanté") and the ferry from the Three Cities to Valletta. The studio is just perfect, modern, very clean and equipped with all the necessary facilities. Soft bed. The street is absolutely quiet at night. There is a good French-style bakery 5 minutes away, next to the big church of Our Lady of Victories. Harold arranges everything down to the last detail, thanks for that!
Perfect boutique hotel; had the right mix of upscale hotel feel but also well hosted like a B&B. David was superb, both in being flexible for arrival/check-in and a grand breakfast, but not at all overbearing or intrusive. Just right! The rooftop bar was lovely, and both being in a less-touristy part of the city yet near some great sites and 5 min from ferry to Valletta was ideal. Also the bathroom was lush, comfy beds. Would book again, not least for David's hospitality!
The interior of the hotel is very special and much different from any other hotels we've stayed at. The staff was extremely nice and always ready to answer any questions we had - like tours, restaurants, beaches, etc. We could also take any beach towels and sunscreen, and the room was equipped with both natural and sparkling water daily. We definitely enjoyed the breakfast on the roof and the view every morning, as it was one of the highlights of the entire trip. :)
We really enjoy our holidays in Malta and were gratefull to hosting family. They offered to pick us at the airport for small change (15EUR) and it was very kind and helpfull. The appartment is equipped very well, offers even more what you need. What we like the best was the location. The Senglea is the best place to live!!! It is close to Valetta, just few minutes walk to ferry. Travelling by ferry gives you special views every day :-)
The house was perfectly located with just a short walk to the ferry for Senglea. The kitchen was very well equipped to eat in if you didn't fancy all meals out.
The host was incredibly helpful and polite, answering all questions quickly and being as accommodating as possible.
This was not a tourist area but all the locals seemed friendly and it felt perfectly safe walking around. Also very peaceful in the night.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious, and very comfortable. It is located on the quiet side of Senglea, so was very peaceful for a good night of rest. Convenient location to the ferry. The internet is fast, and was good enough do a bit of work & Zoom calls. The apartment is modern and very well decorated. Overall I was very happy with a perfect stay.
The Cugo Gran Macina was the one of the best hotel I have stayed at, and I have stay at 5 Star Hotels around the world. The staff were extremely attentive and quick to provide assistance whenever requested. The facility and the room were amazing.
The close proximity of the Three City Ferry from the hotel made transfer from Singlea to Valletta quick and easy.
Michael and Eric are the best hosts I have ever encountered. They really cared about our well being and gave good advice for our trip.
The view from the rooftop is amazing and there is a good chance you will have it for yourselfes since the hotel only has six rooms. Additionally the breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day.
The perfect place to stay while visiting Malta! Easy accessible from Valletta by ferry or bus and a nice walk, the hotel is located in a nice a quiet area.
The hotel is very nice, clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast is amazing and delicious :)
Everything was fine. I really enjoyed this stay. Senglea and this home was perfect for Malta. Senglea is cheaper than Valetta, and I didn’t know that so this was a good surprise.
The host was really kind and helpful. I really recommend this home.
very god apartment in Senglea, near Valletta city. Ira is a very kind host, she is very helpful with any request.
the accommodation is very clean and it is possibile find everything to cook.
We made a perfect stay here!
The apartment is just a few minutes from Senglea bus station and not much further to a choice of restaurants on the waterfront. The "three cities", steeped in history, are a delight to explore.
Liked the look cation if Senglea for easy access to the Three Cities and Valletta. Good transport hub for buses and ferries. Really good top end restaurants. Liked the history.
Such a stunning hotel, the Rooms were huge and beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches. The pool was also a highlight! Staff were incredibly nice and helpful.
Located in the very heart of Senglea, very close to the restaurants at the promenade, yet quiet and charming. Breakfast was very nice, the room is excellent.
Everything! The hotel itself, the beautiful art on display, the location and especially the people (the owners and staff) in the hotel who were all lovely.
