Not the best part of the Island for a family holiday - if you are looking for the best beach area head for the South West. Perebere is an excellent location for SCUBA Diving. Loads of Dive Centers and loads of nice Dive Sites. You definately need a hire car if you are going to base yourself here.

Pereybere is a great tourist area and has one of the nicest beaches but it tends to get crowded. Also what is unappealing are the stray dogs. I think Mauritius needs to find a solution for stray dogs. Lots of halal food options in the area and nearbyIshratSouth Africa - 10Scored 10
Overall Pereybere is an excellent place to stay.
Overall Pereybere is an excellent place to stay. We found the lush green trees and grass and the sandy beaches a wonderful place for walking strolling and even on the evening. It was just a cool warm air that was nice to walk. The local people were friendly and public transport you can get around Pereybere and enjoy the different restaurants with the different foods. It was lovely and amazing place to stay the apartment in which we stayed in was lovely and the beach being around the corner was an excellent choice that we made great place lovely food lovely people . Amazing! I would recommend that you try the seeing the dolphins and the buggy rides as well as visit in the other islands by boat.

North West coat of Mauritius is the best for climate East coast not as beautiful and sustains wind and beaches are not as good as NW coast - if you get a car - avoid Port Louis driving - a nightmare - bus driverers are the worst on the road but cheap - be careful driving - bikes at night - no lights and undertake you - idiots wearing flip flops on bikes -SteveUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Pereybere is great if you are a beach person but does not have enough restaurants & bars in terms of variety and some are really overpriced, for example WANG THAI restaurant - also very snobbish staff ... A quaint little place with limited amenities in close...
A quaint little place with limited amenities in close walking distance. Paddling and canoeing can be arranged at the public beach and several food trucks are available with a different selection of local foods. There are several diving centre agencies along the main road to chose from. We found a supermarket called ‘Winners’ approximately 250m from the public beach which was well stocked, with friendly and helpful staff. We popped in several times during our stay. Fresh baguettes and finely shaved ham were our favourite.

We could not have asked for a better location in Grand Baie area and we loved Pereybere; and we loved having the lounger area above the beach with the big trees providing shade and much needed respite from the heat and sun. The staff, especially security, were so helpful and so lovely, always smiling and happy to help us with any issue. The house was big and lovely and perfect for our group of 8. We loved the views from the house and garden and the lounger area under the trees and outdoor shower.

The supermarket WINNERS was about a 5 minute walk away and we used it almost every day. Swimming pool was long and water was warm. The area was full of palms and green flowers. Sitting on balcony and listening birds was my daily routine. Parking place and secured area with guard. Ki residence is on side road with dead end, so no noice from cars. Situated just 10mins walking to Pereybere beach. Just 5minutes to Bloom restaurant which was really nice.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and of a good size and the bathroom was excellent with a roomy shower and good, strong hot water. We met Kiki who was very welcoming and helpful and kept the place very clean. Loved the balcony with a clothes horse provided for each room so we could easily dry our swimming things.
