Absolutely beautiful hotel in a vibrant green setting with onsite restaurant. The pool was too cold to use and the sound of birds was amazing although not if you plan to sleep in without ear plugs:) Love the little patio

The town is far too busy, if you want peace and quiet stay closer to the gardens.

True rainforest environment, and lovely mountains surrounding the town of Xilitla, exceeded my expectations. That town itself is run-down, without many restaurant options. So, staying outside of town near the Edward James gardens, really makes sense.

We were wondering whether we should visit Xilitla and now we are so glad we decided to go! Had a great time, would have regretted not going. Driving there and from is another experience, with winding roads in the mountains and beautiful scenery. Xilitla is a small but very busy village, with local food and very friendly people. Not too many tourists, amazing nature. The surrealist garden is also worth visiting.

A magical place. Get a guide at James sculpture garden.
A magical place. Get a guide at James sculpture garden. It's worth the small expense. The Carrington museum is lovely. Talk to Ruben at the Mimi Mask Museum. He is an interesting person who knows a lot about the town.

Xilitla had some charm, at the central square you can find some good restaurants, for example Querreque (best salad so far in Mexico). If you want to visit las pozas it’s a nice base. I can imagine the hotels surrounding las pozas in the middle of the jungle must be even better than the city center.
Honest enough, this hotel is a quite "basic" location concerning the room and bathroom facilities. Please do not expect a "Hilton" like room/bathroom. But as you do not pay a "Hilton" price neither, I think it is more than fair !
The owner EVA is the PERFECT host, as friendly and helpful as any human ever can be, she is just wonderful and the soul of Xilitla - we were amazed by you hospitality, and will come back in 3 month with you again - THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING, what a wonderful stay we had !!!!!!!
Beautiful wall murals and special artistic designs all around. Wonderful views. The owners are very nice and helpful, especially Alejandro, who went above and beyond to tell us about how the hotel got built, places to explore, and he even went with us to a mirador close by to explain more about the plants and animals of the jungle. Breakfast is not included but you can go to the small restaurant right across the street which one of the family members from the hotel owns. Good Internet service.
This is a traditional posada - being a guest in a beautiful old family home is perfect for Xilitla, full of character with wonderful mountain views. Spacious bedroom, comfortable bed with soft warm blankets and a gracious hostess makes for a memorable stay. She also organised for us (no commission!) a taxi and local guide for a hike above La Trinidad, highly recommendable if you want to go to a local mountain community and hike in their 'ejido' ethnic lands.
If you are in Xilitla for the surrealism of Edward James and Leonora Carrington, this is the essential Mexican portion of the visit being the creation of Plutarco Gastelum, James's friend and craftsman. An original Carrington graces one of the walls. Guests effectively have the full run of the building, its open spaces and living room preserving the fixtures and contents of the past. I feel privileged to have stayed here. Breakfast is also excellent.
The location was great, right at the main square and in our case, we had a great view to their main church and with the mountains on the background. The sculpture garden was very close also. The owners of the hotel have a small restaurant a couple of meters away with good and cheap food (full menu for ~65 pesos + drinks). There is airco which is very nice in the hot evenings (at night it cooled enough to have it off, but it was winter).
There was a very nice view from our window and small balcony. There is also a nice view from an outlook on the top floor. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, but it was out of service. Many rooms are on upper levels, and there is no elevator. The staff was friendly and helpful. The small pueblo magico of Xilitla is well worth the effort to get there.
I did not like when I arrived at the hotel it was a party in a very near by bar, creating a lot of noise and do not be able to sleep at all, I requested change the room and there were bedbugs that bite me in the arm and in the face creating a very bad allergy, I left the hotel immediately and contacted the booking to request my reimbursement.
The owner is always available, he also tells you good recomendations around the place.
Despite the fact the propierty doesn't have parking space he was so kind to provide me one of his own home. You feel always like you were staying in the house of a relative instead that being in a hotel.
the posada is a living museam with actually artifacts from the garden and it is the house where Edward James stayed when he was in Xilitla. Luisa Plutarco’s granddaughter showed us around and explained
everything. includes and incredible breakfast.
this is a great little hotel fabulous views ,friendly and helpful staff , family owned.. clean and comfortable.. plesant walk to edward james gardens. very short walk to la cebolla falls ( recommend hiking to the upper falls its muck higher )
Stuff was very nice, help with everithing, location is good only one street from the central square...
The view is great. Shower have hot water 🙏. Beds are enough confortable. Hotel owner is a Dr. in town. just next door!
Good option in Xilitla, close to the famous park, to get to town a car is needed, well at least better. Location is in the jungle but the place is clean, the rooms nothing special but quite big. Parking at the hotel
The staff is the best staff that I ever seen in a small hotel. The girls offered to walk my pet and to take care of her. We loved this attitude.
The location is good, they have an external parking lot. It's OK.
The location of the hotel was great, with excellent views of nearby mountains and walking distance to all the main sights in the town. The hotel was very well maintained and the staff were friendly.
