Casa Xochitl, our home, is the ideal place for experienced adventurous travelers, NOT tourists, interested in experiencing down to earth Baja culture, exploring the desert and solitary beaches. Our B&B is atrium style, built around a laurel tree graced by brick arches and bougainvilleas. This is an atmosphere that embraces Southern Baja's agreeable sub-tropical climate. We're located 3 blocks down a sandy road off MX 1 on the edge of a laid back colony, a few minutes from solitary beaches and a quick 15 minutes drive to La Paz's Malecón, the longest in all of Mexico. Our casa is very private and secure with 10' walls completely surrounding us, in a very authentic and safe Mexican neighborhood. There are two dining areas, two courtyards, a hot tub/plunge pool, fish pond and roof top decks for your enjoyment. We serve a full hot breakfast ***Monday through Saturday at 8:30am*** before you start your Mexican adventures... you may not want lunch later! We HIGHLY recommend a rental car because taxis and ride shares are not widely accessible in the La Paz area.
Dan and Winn love hosting at their very unique hacienda-style casa. We're originally from the Pacific Northwest, USA but desired a change in our lifestyle and boy, we got it! We love getting to wear flip flops and shorts year round, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, swimming, shell collecting, playing with our three dogs or just taking a siesta at the beach. We love to help our guests out with places to eat, visit, experience all to make their vacation the best it can be. We have no qualms about being social with guests or being quiet and out of their way. We are very easy going and laid back and just want everyone to enjoy their stay with us!
We are on a sandy road, 3 & 1/2 blocks off Hwy. 1 in a small suburb 5 minutes north of La Paz city limits. Our neighborhood, El Centenario, is for the traveler that wants to experience real Mexican living, not the all inclusive resorts that pretend to be Mexico. If you like resorts, you may not want to stay with us! We have quite a few restaurants, food trucks, little stores, road side stands, churches, produce stands all within walking distance. Also, the local beach is 3 KM away. Our neighbors are friendly locals that will likely greet you with a smile and or a wave. Again, if you aren't the adventurous traveler, you might want to look elsewhere. We highly recommend a rental car to better explore the area, though there are some ride-share options here, taxis and the public bus. Any questions contact us!
