Mazunte is the perfect combo of comfort and nature.
Mazunte is the perfect combo of comfort and nature. It’s very small but lively with shops and restaurants and the atmosphere remains quite and friendly. For even more tranquility I recommend spending the days on the beach at San Angustinillo, and heading back in town for dinner. Temazcal ceremonies at Kakao Kali are a must try if you’re on a healing journey. I was also happy to take a boat ride to see the dolphins and sea turtles.

This is a hip vibe place to be.
This is a hip vibe place to be. The busy streets, the beach goers. The constant revelry. This place is a Pueblo Magico so it has a standard that was met. Pueblo Magico towns offer an experience that is reflective in the most part to that area of Mexico. This town did not disappoint, but go down the road to Zipolite, and you will understand that the conformity of Mazunte, is pleasing to the eye and walk able (somewhat). The area's that seem pedestrian for the visitors are often used as service roads for vehicle traffic, and if you are from North of America, pediatricians have the right away. Not the case here, the car, or motorbike is king, stay to the side, and don't get lost in the karma of the place, because someone will be down your back in no time. Be careful.

Loved Mazunte by the beach!
Loved Mazunte by the beach! The beach area hotels are much quieter than the ones by the main road.
Good food is plentiful and easy to find.
Everyone gathers at the beach to watch the sunset!
Word of warning; come with pesos because ATM machines often run out of cash or are not working. Learned this the hard way.

We love this quaint little beach town.
We love this quaint little beach town. You are living each day with and like the locals. Grab some fresh fruit, local coffee, and local pastry treat and hang out on Main Street with the locals and enjoy the atmosphere.
The beaches are beautiful and not crowded although the current is quite strong in some areas. 2 beaches just 5 minutes away or another maybe 10 minute walk. Greet the spectacular sunrise each morning on the beach with sun salutations, yoga, jogging, swimming or enjoy a short boat ride to see whales, dolphins, turtles and msntarays. Sport fishing is available too,

Small beach town with not much going on besides beach,...
Small beach town with not much going on besides beach, tourist clothing shops and dining options. The ocean is beautiful but a bit rough at the time we visited in early November. You can rent an umbrella to have shade. There appeared to be a little night life on a few small roads leading to the beach but we didn’t go there for that so I can’t speak from experience.

Mazunte is best seen from the beaches.
Mazunte is best seen from the beaches. The town was not really our thing. It is not attractive unless you like dusty bohemian chaos. Great people watching. The beaches are beautiful. We found few fine restaurants (admittedly we did not sample all of the restaurants). El Copal was a gem.
We did not want to leave. You can sense how special this place is the moment you walk into the front door. The views are insane. They make everything so easy. You are catered to like you are a king and queen. There is a beautiful private beach area. The rooms are huge and have everything you may need. Salomon, the manager, is the nicest and most accommodating host. He made sure everyone at the hotel was welcomed and well taken care of. The area is just a hop skip to the downtown. I loved this place and will always remember this special place.
This place is absolutely enchanting!! Words cannot even describe how lovely the Carpe Diem is! The attention to detail is unbelievable- every inch of the property has been perfectly designed and thoughtfully decorated. Its a modern facility tucked into the hill above Mazunte- away from all the hustle and dust of the main Mazunte area. Appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot! The on-site restaurant is just lovely and food was delicious!
As a solo female traveler, Casa de Kai was perfection. A 7 minute walk to the beach, one minute to anything you might need or want while in Mazunte. The room was perfect, clean, bright, cozy, simple. Paula is an exceptional and attentive host and a remarkable human. She was the best part of my stay at Casa de Kai - in her, I made a life-long friend. Oh, and the cats Minu and Max hanging with me in the garden, were a sweet addition.
Absolutely fantastic! Marco and Roberta were so welcoming! Their place is beautifully maintained and feels like home. The location is within walking distance to everything you need for the perfect vacation. We wish we could have stayed for longer! It was wonderful, thank you so much Marco and Roberta. I'm convinced that Mazunte is the best place on the Oaxacan coast thanks to Posado Olivo!
The rooms are modern and well-maintained. One of the highlights of this hotel is its excellent location, it offers easy access to the town and beach. The hotel staff were notably amiable and accommodating. From check-in to check-out, they displayed a warm and welcoming attitude, always ready to assist with any queries or requests.
What a lovely little place! Situated i the heart of Mazunte, this hotel is on one of the main streets with lots of shops and restaurants and only a short walk to the beach. Slightly set back off the road so no issues with noise overnight. AC works great. Clean and comfortable. Let us leave our bags until 3pm on day of check-out.
Very clean! Beautiful place. Very close to the beach. Safe parking. The hotel is on the mainstreet of the village. So, almost all the restaurant of the town are very close. The host help me to find my lost bag. Really appreciate! Thank a lot.
Very clean.
The host is great and helpful.
Very safe.
Kitchen is great compare to mexico.
Location is great. Not on the main street - need to walk little bit, very quiet. Close to marmajita beach.
Wifi works good.
Clean and very spacious room. It’s possible to be like 4 people in the room. Very very good price. CloOn the mainstreet of Mazunte, so all the restaurants are close.
The hotel had a lovely pool and Albert the hotel owner was very friendly. The rooms and hotel were pretty and the kitchen access right next to the pool was great.
