The staff, lead by Oswaldo, was incredible! So friendly and accommodating. There was great snorkeling right from the beach which was not too crowded. Easy to get to the north side for excursions, etc via taxi but most days there was plenty to see and do within walking distances you don’t even need to leave the hotel! We would absolutely stay there again.
United States of Americala Joya is a gem. It’s just as described - a boutique hotel overlooking the Mediterranean. Plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the view of the Sea. Our room (#4) was comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the Sea from the room and the deck. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was a welcome amenity. Breakfast was served every morning on the deck- a wonderful way to start the day. La Joya is located in a very quiet part of the island, with few restaurant options, which wasn’t an issue for us. Taxis are plentiful to get all around the island.

I enjoyed that it was removed from the craziness in playa Norte. the manager was especially accommodating to minor requests.

A hidden gem for sure. The staff is super nice as well, they helped with our heavy bags. I went with my girlfriend and we had such a lovely, romantic time.
