Resort Gaya Island Resort
Malohom Bay, Pulau Gaya, Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, 88000 Gaya Island, Malaysia – Great location - show map
Everything! The check in process at the jetty, the staff, the resort itself, the room, the pool, the beach, the activities.. The food was also great. I honestly didnt have anything I dislike. Just remember to Reserve what you want to do and/or the place you want to eat early to avoid disappointment.

Beautiful, well taken care of Resort. The staff was wonderful and never passed you without saying good morning, good afternoon or good evening. Loved having options for our evening meal besides a standard buffet (that got old after a month on Borneo). The pool was beautiful and they have the BEST beach chairs ever!

Beautiful location, we saw monitor lizards right outside our room (they're much larger than I thought they'd be).

If you are on the fence about booking here i would say DO IT! We stayed for only 2 nights at the end of August. It was an amazing end to our travels in Borneo. Although we didnt get fantastic weather, there was still loads to do and the staff were so so friendly, the food was amazing and our room was just outstanding. wish we could go back and do it over!

Everything was very good. The food was excellent and the staff good. Location was great

There is so much to do and see here. We saw wild hornbills, macaques, bearded pigs, water monitors, a tree viper, and many types of birds, lizards, and, yes, bugs. The staff is delightful. The resort is integrated into the landscape so you only see a bit of it at a time, lending to a relaxed jungle feeling. The snorkeling is great is you ask where to go. The food is delicious and abundant. Just looking at the water, and the view of KK and Mt Kinabalu is incredibly soothing.

A fairytale location. Conveniently close to Kota airport but far enough away to feel remote. Excellent facilities, the food in the restaurants was amazing, excellent water sports available and activities both free and paid. Plus a private beach, just a 5min boat ride away. Heavenly.

The staff were amazing throughout the hotel. Special thanks to Terence and Ramesh who were always on hand to help with anything you needed. The private beach was great, loved walking through the bush to get to it and far fewer people there so much more relaxing. The restaurant over there was also great - simple food but really well presented and again brilliant staff. Kids love watching the monkeys trying to snaffle a bit of food or something from the peoples bags on the beach!

We have spent 6 nights at Gaya Island resort. Everything was perfect. Room: very clean and well maintained every day. Food: Breakfast had a big variety of food The Fishermans Cove - fantastic fresh sea food Beach sea food BBQ was very nice Our favourite part was Japanese restaurant with Ben, his Chief. Lovely beach: clean (special thanks to all Guys who take care of the beach), with plenty of sun beds, fresh towels and cold water. The staff: you are all amazing! We had a jungle walk with Justin. He provided us with lots of knowledge about the local species and their medicinal value, animal spotting and Gaya' conservation activities restoring mangroves to attract local species, which are in decline. Good luck with healing Percy, a python currently under treatment! The Marine centre, Scott and the Green turtle changed my life forever. Good luck Scott! We will definitely try to come again soon!

Gaya Island is a piece of heaven.. an unforgettable experience worth its $ at every minute of it.
