The restaurant has excellent reasonably priced vegetarian food. The staff is great. Derek is a helpful, conscientious manager. We stayed 2 weeks and loved it.

Not a lot it is Sold As a yoga surf retreat and they’re isn’t a surf board in site the staff are the rudest people I ever met ( local workers excluded from that ) The yoga when it did exist was taught by a guy who was rude and had been drunk the days before .. super unprofessional place Would be fine if sold as camp ground off the beach area of tofo but is sold As something it isn’t

Turtle Cove Lodge offers a cool haven for our guests, set in lush Palm Tree Gardens, only 5 minutes away from all the spectacular beaches of Tofo and Tofinho. Build in a striking blend of Mozambican, Mali and West African architecture, Turtle Cove exudes a charming, exotic and warm community atmosphere. Loved by solo travellers, Yogis and facilitators. Yoga , ideal for retreats and trainings. The Bar and Restaurant is open daily, serving freshly caught seafood and delicious vegetarian meals. During Yoga Retreats, we serve buffet style meals with the most delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes freshly prepared from organic gardens. These meals include super foods, green juices and raw vegan deserts, organic kombucha and more. Accommodation consists of 12 charming chalets set amongst the Palm trees, sparkling swimming pool and lovely outdoor lounge area. All rooms are en-suite and consist of double or twin beds, mosquito nets, bed linen and bath towels.

Turtle Cove was founded by Nic in 1995, an avid surfer, eccentric pioneer and particularly wild character. It started as a rustic surf camp catering for equally adventurous surfers who ventured up the coast during those untamed years. Nelia gradually joined Nic and settled permanently when he lured her by building the most extraordinary Yoga Shala for her. They consecrated their union in 2006 with a ceremony in the Shala after their romantic, spontaneous first wedding in Greece. Since the inception of the Yoga Shala in 2005, Turtle Cove moved organically towards a Yoga and Retreat Center. It brings them huge joy to attract facilitators from all over the world to host retreats of personal growth. Their own personal journey has also been one of change and transformation. They have both become passionate yogis with a desire to connect deeper with life, with heart and the stream of Creation. Nelia is a qualified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, teaching weekly in the Shala and their children’s school as well as offering Full Moon Women Circles and Womb Awareness Retreats. Nic is equally passionate about Chi Gong, participates in Men’s Circles, retreats and still surfs as often as possibl
