This town has beautiful architecture, churches, street art, and historical sights. There also many unique shops and wide variety of restaurants. Try sampling the various cheeses, you will probably buy more than you can carry.
There are many other sights of interest nearby, Gouda would make a nice base for the region.

We didn’t have much time to explore as we came for a friend’s birthday party but we had a couple of walks in the old town, really nice. We loved the architecture of the houses by the canals.
Cheese is to die for!

very pretty tourist town, with beautiful historical church, and other buildings. Lots of great places to eat in the main town centre. Try and go when the cheese markets are on. the Stroop Koeke factory tour was also really great!

Gouda is a fascinating old dutch town.
Gouda is a fascinating old dutch town. We took our time going through the 30 stations of the self-guided historic tour and thoroughly enjoyed learning about this small yet once very important merchant/trade town. The annual Beach Festival was going on during our visit and we got to watch some beach volleyball games on the market square (on sand that was brought in).
Disappointingly, the Verzetsmuseum was closed (apparently being moved and re-conceptualized) but we could still soak up quite a lot of history--while tasting some great cheese, too!
We missed the weekly cheese market, though. If you want to experience that, be sure to visit on a Thursday.

Fascinating and well-defined old town for those who are prepared to read up the available literature, which is not voluminous, and simply look around them at the multitude of fascinating historic buildings, nearly all of which are either lived in or used for various purposes.
The choice of eating places was too large to have any list of preferences
The inner, and old town, is essentially defined by a square canal system easily walked from one side to another in twenty minutes.
excellent location, close to the old town center. very quiet. Inge is an excellent and very accommodating host. we were able to store our luggage prior to the official check inn time. She made a taxi reservation for our trip to Rotterdam and she texted us to make sure all had gone well and we had made it to our destination .
We appreciated the nice touches (bottle of wine and other drinks and a package of the famous Gouda Kamphuisen
siroopwafels).
the room was amazing, except when we went to shower, because the drain did not work so wel and the room was fulled with water. the rooms does have great beds and perfect room climate control enough power outlets and a good internet connection. the walk to the station is only about 5 minutes and there are a couple of places that you can go to to get something to eat. the mall is from the station only 2 stops away so you have a lot of places to go to.
I had a great experience staying at the flat in Gouda. It was very comfortable, clean, and conveniently located in the centre of town, near the main square. It is located within a short walk from the train station. Joop and the other staff members were always very friendly and willing to help with anything. I would highly recommend this place for both short and long stays, whether for work or holidays.
The staff are amazingly helpful, and they will do whatever they can to make your stay better. The hotel is beautiful, a great mix of a historic building with modern decor. The room is filled with modern luxuries and is very clean. The bed was very comfortable and I got a great night's sleep. The breakfast was brilliant with a all you can eat made to order menu.
Very clean, cozy and comfortable place almost in the center of Gouda.
The first time we took a chance and went to apartments that have no reviews on Booking.com. And we were very pleased. Bright, spacious, quiet place. Friendly and caring hostess Inge. Special thanks for the delicious breakfast.
The location of the place is amazing, located in a 2 years old neighborhood, with lots of water all around and a many tracks for running. The breakfast was very good, served by the place owner to the room, Supermarket nearby. Gouda center is 5 minutes by car
Probably the best place I have ever stayed on my travels in Europe. It fit mom and I to a tee.
Clean, simple, and so pleasurable. Beat any fancy hotel I have ever stayed in. I could have easily made that place my permanent residence.
Excellent location. It was very easy to communicate with host who was super kind and helpful. My room was comfortable and good value for money. It was better than a hotel. I would definitely recommend it and go back here again.
Everything ! Good service with a smile, clean, parking below, location to the centre and fab restaurant next door. We did not have a meal or drink at the hotel this time but next time we surely will. It all looked good !
cute and cosy location, but very well equipped- we had everything we needed and more.
the location is excellent, the tiny street itself is magical and Gouda is so great!
