I was there the days before Christmas.
I was there the days before Christmas. The village was charmingly decorated with lights.
Perfect bus connections to Maastricht and Heerlen.
Beautiful surroudings (with hills) for hikes, and a lovely evening stroll through the center.
I also went to the nearby Triangle border where Holland meets Germany and Belgium: within a few seconds you are in a different country haha. And very special: you are at the highest point of the Netherlands!
I definitely want to come back soon and rent a bike and cruise through the beautiful nature. And I want to visit the museum. Oh, and the market on Tuesday morning.
And not to forget: taste the typical 'Limburgse vlaai'. Yummy!

Vaals is a nice clean town with plenty of places to eat.
Vaals is a nice clean town with plenty of places to eat. Some of the more recent development there has spoilt it a little but there is some great walking from there and it is very popular with cycling enthusiasts. The frequent bus services to nearby Aachen and beautiful Maastricht make it a place where you can leave the car behind.
The beautiful and "rustgevende" location was magnificent, with its small lake and river, the park and nature around, and it's interesting to learn a bit more about the castle's history as well. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet. There is a nice little cosy bar in the hotel as well, which serves great pie. Also, the breakfast was marvellous and staff were very friendly, too.
The hotel looks like a palace. It is very nice and fancy on the interior and exterior. The room was comfortable and very clean. The heating was working fine and the tea/coffee facilities provided were very good. Parking was available and the receptionist was very friendly. We didn't have breakfast but we saw the breakfast room and it should have been good.
We chose the hotel because it’s convenient to visit Aachen from the Netherland, and continue to Belgium cities. It is idyllic in Spring time, with flowers blossom in the garden and birds chirping. Our luxury king room offered two great beds in different rooms with elegant furnishings. The spa tub in bathroom looks nice although we didn’t use it.
Location was right on the main road. Parking was provided at a very small fee. Rooms have been recently remodeled and were very clean. Restaurant was in the hotel and another owned by the Hotel across the street provided good choices for dinner. Breakfast was very good at a very reasonable price. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is located close to the German border at the town of vaals, There are bakeries, supermarkets, giftshops, and a lot sof restaurants near by. Straight up hill is the three borders point (25 min walking, 5 min by car). The hotel is clean the staff is very nice. There is a private parking 2 minutes away from the hotel by foot.
Large room, bath, comfortable chairs, big desk to have breakfast and dinner, very extensive breakfast, large garden behind the building, beautiful building. (Admittedly, while I am very enthusiastic about my stay in this hotel, it is also in a higher price class than I am used to, so in part it is an apples to oranges comparison.)
They accommodated our baby with a nice crib. The rooms were clean and spacious.
We arrived a little late and the restaurants close by were all closed. Luckily the hotel has a pub/bar with drinks and food. That was easy for us.
There is lots of greenery around. It's a nice place to walk around and feel disconnected.
The whole apartment was great. It was very well stocked and the hosts left us a lot of supplies like milk, bread, cheese and more. The shower was great even though the bathroom was small. The beds were comfy ! Vaals is a lovely town it has several bakeries and a good few shops. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
The apartment was extremely clean and spacious. The location is the best in Vaals and also close to bus stops for different trips in the area and the downtown of the city of Vaals. There are shops and restaurants in 1-2 minutes walking from the apartment. Definitely recommend and will book again.
Beautiful place and garden, the room where I stayed has a terrace, so can have a breakfast outside as well! Ordered dinner twice from the restaurant, always yummy!! Dog-friendly hotel and such a nice surrounding area, great for bike or hike lover.
Almost everything went well and was up to the standard we were looking for! We selected this hotel for its facilities (Swimming pool etc.) and used it as a base from which to visit Liège, Aachen and Maastricht.
Hotel was great, Location good and nice views towards the back of the building. Ample free parking.
Breakfast was a feast with variety and special orders from the chef.
Champagne available during breakfast.
We were with 8 small boys and 6 adults, really liked the reception and friendliness! Hotel went out of their way to make the whole group comfortable. If you love Ouzo go here :-)
