This is a castle. I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with the size and decor of our room! It had a sitting area where the small oval windows possibly once had cannons aimed out of them. The air conditioner sat inside the room and was easily adjustable. The moat view from our windows was definitely unusual. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had both a very nice tub and a shower. The breakfast was outstanding! The only thing missing was a chef, but you really didn't need that with all the wonderful options! We would highly recommend this hotel.

The location / Property is stunning. Very nice moated chateau style castle, which has been tastefully turned into a hotel. The rooms are huge. We had a Deluxe twin and Premium Double, both were great, but I'd go for the Premium. I've had smaller suites! The property is beautiful and well worth exploring the grounds (bug repellent encouraged), even the drive up is wow through a gate house. Our rooms faced onto the lake and the tree in the centre had at least 7 herons nesting in it, which was a fascinating watch waking up over pod coffee in the morning. We got there about 9pm and the restaurant was close to last orders, but the exceeding helpful reception lady got us a table and we were allowed a single course fine dining meal in the vaulted cellar. Not cheap, but worth it!

    Tegelen's train station is 4 minutes away by car. By foot it is about 15-20 minutes walk.

  • Is there a safe place to leave bicycles overnight?
    We don`t have a locked bicycle parking, we advise our guest to bring a extra lock. We have camera`s but it is parking on own safety.
