Castle Hoekelum dates back from the 13th century, with the last major changes dating back to 1910. The castle has just 8 rooms, with old pictures of ancestors on the walls, recently updated and is surrounded by a beautiful park on an estate. Easy to find with a routeplanner; signs on the roads direct you to it too. Parking is free and opposite the white Coachhouse (Koetshuis) a minute walking away and just for guests. Staff is exceptionally kind, helpful and accommodating. They enjoy what they are doing and that shows. A joy to be welcomed this way even in times of the pandemic. Rooms are clean and modern, free Wifi. During Corona, they serve dinner and breakfast by delivery, on and at the time mentioned, at your room. The table has real table linnen, napkins also linnen, nice cutlery. The quality of the food is very good: dinner meat/fish/vegetarian. Breakfast is excellent in variety and quantity.

Nice room overlooking the moat and fields with horses. Bottle of water included, no minibar. Helpful staff at reception and during breakfast. Breakfast is not buffet style, but prepared on the table in sufficient quantity. Free private parking at a nearby the hotel.

Beautiful historic mansion situated in the forest, close to National Park Veluwe. The hotel has tonnes of character and whilst the rooms and amenities are fairly simple (e.g. bathrooms are basic and a bit dated), this place offers good value for money. Breakfast was nice. The surroundings are quaint and quiet.
