A vibrant yet chilled out place to visit. Loved all the cafe and bars and small streets where you can meander and wander in and out of lovely shops. Some of our party went to the top of the bell tower, quite hard going but amazing views. We also visited the Roman ruins under the tower, very interesting and good fun. Also spent a leisurely hour and a half on a a canal river trip, highly recommended! Went to several restaurants, great, reasonably priced food and far too much good wine and beer. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

Really lovely place, have been here several times and love it more each visit. There's lots to see and places to eat and watch the world go by. As it has a University there are lots of students around which adds to its vibrancy. It's a strange mix of busy and quiet in parallel. Watch out for the bikes as you're in the Netherlands, this took a little getting used to but it does mean there are not so many cars which is lovely. Absolutely recommend a visit!

Utrecht is better than Amsterdam!
Utrecht is better than Amsterdam! It has lots of old buildings and picturesque streets and bridges. The city is also very popular for its University hence one can feel the young vibrant population in the city proper.

A lovely old town with boutique, vintage shops, and great bars and cafes plus a big shopping mall near the station for international brands and a lovely up-market department store. Live music in many places. Lots of walking but enjoyable!

I am in love with this city.
I am in love with this city. Utrecht is a reduced and improved Amsterdam. A very romantic and charming city with canals, parks, narrow streets, neat houses and various entertainments. It reminds me of a model of a puppet city. Everything is clean and tidy, people are smiling, calm and friendly. It's not a small town, but the central part can be explored on foot and the more remote parts by bike or car. There are plenty of places to picnic and walk around and it's only 30 minutes from the bustel of Amsterdam.

We came in November. This is our second time in Utrecht.
We came in November. This is our second time in Utrecht. Previously, we came for Le Guess Who and only for the festival's duration. We were disappointed with ourselves for not giving us and the city a longer time. We returned for the music festival but stayed a week. We could have stayed much longer still.
The people are friendly; the city has interesting things to see and do. As a simple thing, it is a joy to bike around, and while completely obvious, the canals are magical to stroll around.
Utrecht is a beautiful city we look forward to exploring for years.
Having only been in November, Autumn is an enchanting time of year to be there. Wet, at times, but lovely. I can imagine enjoying it all year round.
As a tourist, I'm still unfamiliar with a lot of local food but Olly Bollen and Bitterballen bring me so much joy.
While I didn't buy anything while I was there besides records, they have some cool vintage clothes, antiques and other shops I look forward to checking out. The old town has an amazing shop with all sorts of science and medical antiques. Fascinating.
I also went to a coffee shop, which seemed like a tattoo parlour. Excellent food and service that made me feel like we were old friends. I cant really describe how approachable people and the feeling go way beyond that.
I need to learn Dutch for future trips, but I found that many (most) people spoke fluent English.
The hotel is situated right next to the train station and thus very convenient to the shopping centre. Walking to the old part of Utrecht is also convenient. Although some guests said the train created noise issue, we did not hear it, probably due to which side your room is, so if you prefer a quieter room, maybe you need to indicate when you check in (we did not make a special request). The room was a reasonable size, clean and well maintained. Not a luxurious type but comfortable enough and is value for money as the price is very reasonable.
- Excellent location, easily accessible by transit, in walking/biking distance to everything you might want to do in central Utrecht. Lots of great restaurants nearby.
- Superb breakfast in the fancy restaurant attached to the hotel. Keep in mind it's not a buffet, you have to order from a menu, but that only makes it feel more fancy.
- Convinent bike rental
- Easy to get in late using the keycard without having to bother anyone to open the door
- Very comfy bed
- Fantastic service, both in the reception and at the restaurant.
ZIES is a small boutique hotel located right in the center of the old town, easy to access from the train station. We stayed in the Nerello Mascalese room, which was fabulous! Including a terrace with large windowed doors, comfortable bed, fruit and chocolate on arrival, and a spacious bathroom. Really lovely place to stay for a couple nights in Utrecht. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. We were there at the beginning of the week, so their wine bar wasn't open, but looked nice as well.
Excellent location, a stone's throw from Utrecht Centraal and the old city centre. The room was spacious enough for two people and had all the needed facilities. Comfy beds. Coffee machine and tea + Earth water provided. Cool interior design. The staff at reception was friendly and professional, even in the middle of the night. At just below 60€ pp per night this was one of the best hotel stays either of us has ever had, and we will definitely be back the next time we visit Utrecht.
The location is excellent - bus stop, train station and tram just across the road. Also a short walk to nice restaurants, little shops and even movie theatre. One stop (via bus, train or tram) from Utrecht Centraal from where you can get to airport, Amsterdam, and pretty much anywhere else. Also, to the town centre and mall.
The staff were exceptional - helpful and friendly.
This is a nice and funky hotel at a decent price that suited all my needs. Will definitely return.
Ted was so smiley and very very sweet. He kept regarding me by my name and I found it endearing( maybe it's unusual for him?? Dunno) The breakfast was very nice and the overall vibe of the hotel and him was 10/10 If I come to Utrecht again I'm definitely staying there again if possible
Thank you for the wonderful three days in Utrecht. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and warm. Location is just 15-20 minutes walk distance from city center and has excelent bus connection to the Utrecht Centraal station (literally 5 minutes with bus).
I expect a bigger sized room. The room was clean. However, there was no almirah. However, the bed quality was very nice. The breakfast was a buffet, and many different choices were there. I recommend this hotel for roaming Utrecht, Amsterdam, Keukenhof, and Giethroon.
The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of town, close to restaurants and only a short walk from Centraal Station. Room was compact but very comfortable bed and large shower. The rooms were also extremely quiet - no noise from outside the room at all.
The hotel is very nice, ideally located in Utrecht city centre close to all attractions, bars and restaurants. Staff is very nice, I could check-in outside the check-in hours with an automatic procedure. The room I stayed was big and nicely decorated.
Clean room and bathroom. Bathroom with shower and bathtub. minimalist style. 4-minute walk to the train station (Utrecht Central) and shopping centre. 8-minute walk to Beatrix Theatre. 10/15-minute walk to the city centre.
Moxy is not to miss when staying in Utrecht! Prime location (bus station nearby, close to Utrecht Centraal). The place is super clean and the staff is AMAZING!! Shout out to all crew members for making our stay awesome :)
Clean room, generally good hotel conveniently located right next to the central train station and close to a mall, not far from the city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with a lot of choices.
The location was amazing with it being right on the canal and a short walk to the city centre and mall. Amazing value for money and it’s also very close to Utrecht centraal station which helps a lot with travel
