This hotel was a pleasant surprise, well worth the price. The steep flight of stairs INTO the Hotel was a surprize, NOT something a senior with bad knees was expecting, but the hotel was well worth the climb. The traffic noise outside wasn't too bad at night, and the trams stop sometime after midnight. We loved the breakfast room, so Charming, a whimsical collection of furniture and wall art. we discovered an AMAZING Indonesian restaurant just around the corner from the hotel. Wow!

This is how hotels used to be: a charming "real" property accomodating a range of guests (including solo travellers), with WC/douche largely outside the room and shared, a bountiful breakfast (delicious gluten free breads also available), and the friendliest, most helpful manager in the business. You do not want to stay in a soulless, overpriced block of rooms. You want to stay at a place like this -- a place on a human scale, with the personal touches of the owner and the kindness of the manager.

Hotel Museumzicht is situated on the upper floors of a 19th century Art nouveau mansion. From the breakfast room you have a unique view of the Rijksmuseum, a 3-minute walk away.

The original tiles and furnishings of the rooms are combined with modern box-spring beds and free Wi-Fi. Most rooms have a shared bathroom in the hallway on the same floor.

There is a small library in the breakfast room where you can exchange 1 of your own books for another copy.

The Museum Square with the famous Van Gogh Museum is less than a 5-minute walk away. The Rijksmuseum tram stop is located 50 yards from your doorstep and offers connections to Amsterdam Central Station, the RAI and the World Trade Centre.

    Hi! Yes,some of our rooms have shared bathroom. On every floor there is a shower and toilet. Shared with 3 or 4 other rooms.
