A trully classic Amsterdam family townhouse whose original building was on a foundation of wooden poles some 400 years ago. The house boasts as much charm as you'll find windows and stairs, with something of interest to be seen regardless of your direction of sight. Having only two rooms available at any one time you will always have all the privacy you require as well as that homely feeling, as it was our family home up until very recently. Located in the oldest, and liveliest part of the city, your never further than a 5 minute walk, in any direction from the best bars, restaurants and beauty spots that the city has to offer. Or if the mood takes you, an all immersive historical walk that will take you back in time to the Golden Age of the 1700's where you will be forced to stop and marvel at some of the quite spectacular architecture from the period, then perhaps, stop off at Rembrandts house to admire some of the many original sketches that are still on display. For a highly recommended boat trip along the canals, it couldn't be easier with most of the tour operators embarking some half a kilometer away but why not stop at one of the many brown cafés along the way?
Writing about yourself is never easy ,but to give you some idea of who you'll be staying with i can tell you that, I was born and raised in the UK's capital, London, where, after leaving school at 16 i began life as a motorcycle engineer at Kawasaki. I then became interested in computer programming and soon found i had the skill set to earn a living whilst keeping my hands clean, and so, at the beginning of the tech revolution, switched careers and began programming CD-ROM's for clients such as Microsoft and Unisys until the advent of the internet which saw me involved in the very exciting surge in the capabilities of micro computing. In 2007 however, everything changed, London was becoming a difficult place to live and so, being very unsatisfied with the opportunities that lay ahead for my children, i sold up and moved to Amsterdam where i've been involved in many things from skippering boats to buying and selling reggae records to playing drums and even managed to take a year out and sail my boat all the way to Lyon and back literally leaving from just outside my house! ... Now however, is time for a new chapter, in which i welcome you all into my home.
