Vondelpark House Bed & Breakfast is on the 2nd floor of a hundred year old townhouse in the Zocherstraat, a quiet residential street in the Old West district of Amsterdam. The street is next to the Vondelpark, the most famous park in the Netherlands. The accommodation is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families with teenage children.
I am from Amsterdam and have three adult children. We all love to travel and have lived in many different countries over the years. I am a proud "Amsterdammer" and I love to share my knowledge of my city and the Dutch way of life with my guests. I always wanted to open a bed and breakfast and when a few years ago the opportunity came along I decided to do it. I love cooking and meeting new people. Running a B&B is my full-time job now so I have to give my all to make my business a success.
The Old West district is full of surprises, with cafes and restaurants that attract mostly a local clientele. Within walking distance we are spoiled for cosy bars, small shops and supermarkets and fine dining at reasonable prices. Walk out of our house and turn left and within a few minutes you will be at the entrance of the Vondel Park, Amsterdam's biggest park attracting ten million visitors a year. Leave our house and turn right and within one hundred meters you are on the Overtoom, and able to catch Tram 1 which will take you into the city centre in 9 minutes. Don't worry, we will tell you how to use the trams and also help you with transport cards. If your visit is to take in the sights and tourist attractions we are close to all the famous museums, concert halls and shopping streets. All of Amsterdam is on your doorstep. Maybe you want to go Dutch and experience Amsterdam from the saddle of a bicycle. It really is the easiest way to get around. Three stops on the tram will take you to Macbike where you can rent a bicycle
