This is walking distance from the bus station. However, if you have luggage, you'll be dragging it to 6-10 mins to the hotel. It might be hard if you come during winter. It is near the old town and a supermarket. The buffet breakfast with all those cheese are the best.
Featuring sea views, this stylish hotel is set in a renovated Art Nouveau-style warehouse by the Ålesund Strait. Guests can enjoy cocktails and a wide selection of wine at the on-site ARKIVET Bar.

The location was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was wonderful - we had a suite with a view of the city and plenty of work and relaxation space alongside the beds. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom and shower were excellent. The room was very quiet and a great respite after cold and rainy days. Could walk everywhere in the city from the front door, and the breakfast was nice as well.

I loved that it wasn't very big, yet there was plenty to do there, and it was beautiful as well. I really enjoyed hiking up around the Aksla. There were plenty of excursions that could be done from there, and the scenery was gorgeous. It was very easy getting around the town, whether on fun or via public transportation, and it was relaxing.

Alesund is very beautiful seen from above so make sure you go to Aksla viewpoint where you arrive.
You will love the city if you love the Art Nouveau style.
I am not a fan of this type of architecture so I was not amazed by the city while I was walking in. There is a bit of lack of life and it's very quiet.
However, the landscapes and the nature all around the city is absolutly stunning so this is a great reason to visit this town.

Great city to end my trip around the famous Norwegian Fjords. Clean and walkable city center. Don’t miss out on the 400 steps to the view point above the park. A few restaurants to choose from. Visit the Ålesund aquarium and take a stroll around the old harbor area.

Alesund is a nice town, with much to see. We only thought that there wasn't a lot to do in the evening. For excursions there is plenty of possibilities. Two days is enough for me. Nice that we have seen this.

We were there too late in the season to do the things we wanted to do. The fjord trip was great, but I was hoping to get to Geiranger and Trollsteigen. A pretty place, but not much to see or do in October.

Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature.
Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature. We did the walk to the summit but that was all we enjoyed. So glad we did not stay two nights. It’s a very strange place with few places to eat.
The hotel is a gorgeous piece of Art Nouveau architecture from 1904 that has been brought lovingly into the present with sophisticated design. Everything about the property is just so *handsome.* The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice — served by staff due to Covid protocols. The hidden interior patio is great for relaxing in the sunshine. And the front desk staff was absolutely superb — so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very chic, but still projects a warm welcome due to the personnel.
This may be our favorite location of any place we stayed in Norway! The house had a wonderful view that we spent hours enjoying, and everything inside the house was perfect. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer available. The host was very responsive and helpful. We hope to stay at this property again, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place in this area.
THis was an out of the box destination, full of wonders, history and uniqueness. THis 1910 house is full of skilled wooden carvings, historic furniture , and character. Next door is the wonderful outdoor Viking village complete with ships, grass-roofed cabins, and a well done museum. Having no car, we took the local efficient public bus into Alesund for dinner.
The location was good, easy street parking during off hours, very easy to collect the keys, and groceries across the street, easy walk to downtown Alesund and restaurants and shops. Kitchen was large, well equipped and easy to use. Washer and dryer is a huge bonus. There was plenty of room to spread out, and the furniture was comfortable.
Everything. For sure the best place to stay in Ålesund. The breakfast was homemade and served personally to each guest. Tea time in the afternoon. Rooms and bed fantastic. Very clean. The host Aslaug extreemely helpful and nice. The whole atmosphere in the place is wonderful. Absolutely recommendable.
This is a stunning 6th-floor luxury penthouse apartment overlooking Alesund’s Art Nouveau Old Town. There is an outdoor terrace attached to the stylish living room offering sunset views. There’s a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, induction cooktop and every culinary item you could need.
This accommodation is very cheap, has a washing machine for your clothes (bring your own powder), a drying rack and a kitchen with the basic equipment for cooking (bring your own consumables). It works well as a pitstop, and this was our plan for the 2 nights in Alesund.
Beautiful and functional apartment in the center of Ålesund. Walking distance to sights and restaurants, easy check in and out, clean room and even a kitchen and a washing machine. Parking spaces in front of the building.
The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring Alesund. It is right in the centre. The breakfast was a nice buffet with lots of options. The staff spoke English and they were helpful when we needed assistance.
The hotel is in a good central location. Parking is located not far from there. Comfortable stay, quite and clean room
Very good place to stay overnight
Reception personnel was helpful. Thanks for hospitality
The campsite manager, Christopher, was thoughtful for we bikepackers for a late check-in contact in a raining and windy evening;) Plus, our cabin had a great and peaceful view from Ålesund.
Excellent location in the heart of historical Ålesund; safe and comfortable lodging with all the amenities we needed; warm, welcoming and very helpful host; flexible and easy check-in.
Hotel located in the City center, everything is in walking distance. Fantastic breakfast buffet and a nice wellness aerea. Parking around the hotel is possible with extra fee.
Very good breakfast.
Nice place to stay, clean.
Very helpful and polite staff.
If I visited Alesund again, I would choose Quality Hotel Waterfront to stay.
The hotel is close to bus route 65 that goes to the Ålesund airport. The lobby, bar, and restaurant are attractive.
The restaurant food was quite good.
