Møyrud (www.moyrud.com) is an old cotters farm comprising a yard with 3 houses. 2 of them listed in the 1800 and a newer residential building which is 3 years old. The farm is located in the middle of Norway's food basket and granary. Here the guests can stay in houses with a genuine historical atmosphere and interiors from the 1800s, but with modern amenities. In winter, guests can strap on skis just on our doorstep, and in summer they can take a canoe trip on the lake, Mjøsa, swimming and fishing - or borrow a bike and take a ride through the woods and The Ottestadsti ( a local path which is 16 km long), or to the nice town Hamar (8 km).
On our smallholding, we offer products made from seasonal berries and plants, such as birch syrup, rhubarb juice, blackcurrant jam, organic crackers among others. and more. Likewise we sell self-produced insect hotels.
Nearby there are very good opportunities for fishing, canoeing, cycling, hiking, riding, organic vegetables and fruit, coffee shops with local food, slalom, skiing, skating, wellness massage, curling, golf, fitness center, indoor climbing and distillery/brewery museum. In the Olympic city Hamar (8 km) there is a lot to do: Nice restaurants, watersport, (surfing, kayaking, water cycling), cinema, historical museums, art gallery, the best fish store in Norway (Yes, really!), lots of festivals (music, theater, beer, medieval), in door shopping centers and much more.
