Located at the heart of the city, we are a family mother and son running a had a spare room in our home so we thought we could host some tourist from the world and show them out beautiful city. You are welcome to our home as a guest and leave as a family. You will see amazing view of Bhaktapur Durbar Square and the range of Himalayas from the roof and enjoy the recipes of Newari culture food at my home. In the morning we offer a walk to different temples with yoga on rooftop with the beautiful view of main square. There are weekly feast and festivals happening all around the property where you can partake in. If you are in mood for some Nepalese western we run a cafe in the ground floor of the home. We have hot water showers towels and toilet paper for all visitors. You will have a two bathroom Chinese and western by the side of the room. In addition to this the homestay also provides an excursion of Bhaktapur Durbar Square without an additional cost.
The homestay is in front of the main durbar square gate at Khauma too . We are family of Shilpakar we have residence in this area for centuries since the foundations of Bhaktapur kingdom. We are still involved in the traditional job of our forefathers woodcarving but we had some space in our home so we thought of running a home stay and a cafe. We don't have much but we will serve you like we want to be served and in the customs of Newari culture. our host Navin is also an certified trekking guide with specilized on annapurana mardi and langtang ranges.
Situated at the front gate of Bhaktapur Durbar Square by the side of the almighty Indrayani temple is our Laxmi homestay. This neighborhood is the community of the Shilpakar which itself is the wood artisans. You will be seeing both young as well as old artists trying to keep the ancient art of wood carving alive in this modern world. Placed just outside the entrance of Bhaktapur Durbar Square (Bhaktapur Palace Square) the street is lined up a mixture of the shop, restaurants, hotels and homes where you will find eveything you require from bank. The famous juju dhau (king curd), antique handicrafts with unique garments. Waking up early in the morning the roof top gives access to the magical view of ancient temples of Bhaktapur Durbar Square flocked by devotees with a big background of Himalayas. You will find the humble and honest people with welcoming smile.
