Highly recommend this hotel. They are genuinely good-hearted people who do their best to make it a pleasant stay so I’ll be back when in KTM. I forgot an expensive electronics item in the room while off trekking and they specially kept it safe and gave it to me upon my return, along with the rest of my luggage which they had safeguarded free of charge. I was always waved welcome morning or night and asked for cups of tea or coffee. The breakfast is a solid start to the day and there’s a kettle in the room if you want to boil water to drink for the day. The rooms are clean with towels and bedding neatly folded. The WiFi works too (at least on my mobile). Lastly, the location is bit hidden which protects it from noisy Thamel, but it’s still just around the corner. Thank you to Raj and the team for a wonderful stay!

Firstly the location of the hotel is in the right place, its located in a quiet area and in the walking distance from the main area of thamel. Secondly every member of staff are very friendly and always ready to help in every aspect. The room and the toilet are clean and comfortable with 24hr running hot water. I will not hesitate to stay in this hotel during my next visit to Nepal, I urge anyone travelling to Nepal to book this hotel with confidence, you will not regret.

Its clean and the housekeeping staff is available for clean up daily if you want to. The owner of the hotel (Mr. Raj) was very helpful and accommodating and offered cups of coffee for free. He even brought me to the Filipino community for a dinner and chit chat. The receptionist (Pwn and the other guy) were very helpful as well. The hotel provided free hotel pick up and free breakfast for 6 days. The hotel’s located in Thamel, very close, about one minute walk to LOD Bar (49th best bar in the world). That makes the hotel, a must stay for those who are party people.

This is my home away from home. I’ve come to think of Hotel Yambu as a part of a happy family sort of setting. The hotel owner, Raj is a charismatic personality who makes sure all of his guests feel welcomed and inclusive to his wonderful world of Nepal. If you like breakfast, this is the place to stay with several fresh and delicious options made to order. Another perk is the complimentary international pick up from the airport. And don’t forget to ask Raj to help set up your excursions in and around all of Nepal. He even helped me book a side trip to Tibet.

There is a big banyan tree growing in the compound supplying lot of fresh air into the room through the window and into the balcony. Sitting in the balcony enjoying the breeze and the dancing banyan leaves spreading inside the balcony is really a thing of bliss!
