I loved everything about this slice of paradise. It was even more wonderful than in the photos. I enjoyed being surrounded by nature and the tent was absolutely beautiful. Shanti and Ilsa are wonderful hosts. I will be back soon!

Beautiful relaxing space. If you enjoy glamping and taking it slow this is the place for you. There is only one tent so it’s just you and the host Shanti who is just down the track - 20 metres. Spotless through out,the shower and compost toilet are a delight to use.

    you can walk to Pohara beach in 10 min (600meters) or you can drive there in 2 minutes.

  • I would love to stay at this property. I will not have a car & taking a bus to Nelson. Is there transportation to your town available?
    There isn't too much public transport. But you can try Golden Bay Coachlines or Golden Bay Taxi Service...google them online. Alternatively, hitching a ride around here is perfectly safe and acceptable. Let me know if you have any further questions. Blessings, Shanti

  • Is there a shuttle available to get to the closest beach nearby? What are the other transportation options?
    You can walk to the beach, or take your car. NO shuttle sorry. you can take Golden Bay Coachlines out to Abel Tasman NP if you do not have a car.

  • Hey, How many people are allowed to stay in one of these tents
    Anywhere from 1 to 4 people can comfortably sleep in the tent. We could possibly set up another small bed for a child for a family of 5 (and this has been done before) but it’s tight. 😁

You will relax in your own self-contained zone in lush surroundings right next to our stream. Let Nature surround and embrace you. We are 600 meters from the beach with Kahurangi and Abel Tasman National Parks at your exploration doorstep. This beautiful and incredible land has been created and managed as a full Permaculture organic garden and self-sufficiency lifestyle block. Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive systems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of the landscape with the people which provides their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way. Permaculture integrates people into Nature's design. Spending time here allows you to be embraced and nurtured by this natural design. You can be at one with the elements as you enjoy your homegrown breakfast (additional cost) with the sun shining on you.

We live across the street from our local Marae (Maori meeting place). We live in a quiet neighborhood and in a community of friendly, helpful, and caring people. Beautiful Pohara beach is just a 600 meter stroll away. The beach is an endless expanse of ever-changing beauty as the tide moves a great distance between high and low. It is a great place to walk, run, explore, swim, frolic, ride horses, fly a kite, kayak, ride a blo-kart, relax, read, or walk your dog. The Tarakohe wharf is also only a 15-20 minute walk with great access to fishing, sailing and boating. We are at the gateway to the top end of the Abel Tasman National Park (the quietest most untouched areas are up on the top end). There are endless pristine beaches to explore, kayak, or walk along, as well as waterfall and bush tracks. Some of Golden Bay's best restaurants are within walking distance, such as the San Souci Inn and Ratanui Lodge. For any easy inexpensive meal pick up some fish & chips or pizzas from the local takeaways at Pohara General Store. Aroha Health Spa just down the road providing a range of relaxing therapies and treatments to pamper you after a long day exploring :)
