Great set up, more beds than expected, great to have heat pumps & other heaters & the fire was awesome so even though it was cold when we arrived we soon had the house warmed up. Had everything we needed. Would definitely use again.

Love the space we had - even enough to to some yoga in the lounge, as no tables or couches in the way. Location with great views. Really appreciated the log fire being ready for us, and it made the very cold evening so much more comfortable (log fire has to be used with caution by people not used to them!)

Located in the heart of Tekapo village, Kaltech House - dog friendly has a fantastic spacious deck from which to soak up the sun and stunning views of the lake and mountains. Kaltech House - dog friendly is a holiday home located in Lake Tekapo, 25 mi from Twizel. The unit is 26 mi from Mount Cook Village.

The sunny living area and the main bedroom both open out onto the deck. Combined with a wonderfully equipped kitchen and dining area, it offers a great entertaining space, in all seasons. Towels and bed linen are provided at Kaltech House - dog friendly.

  • Hi, I am looking at booking and bringing our dog. Just asking if your balcony is fully enclosed as we would like to go out for dinner and leave our dog on the balcony.
    Yes the balcony is enclosed, also the area below is also fenced.

  • Hi there, I see you need to pre- approve dogs first. Our 5yr old greyhound i toilet trained and gentle. we live in a designer house in Wanaka and she is not allowed on the furniture as has never chewed or broken anything. Do you had a fenced lawn area or is it your deck only which enclosed? thanks
    Your gorgeous dog is very welcome. Please note that there is a dog fee of $20.00. There is also a fenced area below the house which is gravel.

  • We are looking to book 2 nights accommodation feb 2nd and 3rd. We live in Omarama and are coming to Tekapo to celebrate my wife’s birthday and would like to bring our well behaved Labrador. He sleeps outside in his crate. Is this possible at this property?
    Yes this house is dog friendly and is also fenced.

  • hi there cn you provide 2 cots beddings nd sheets for my twins thanks
    We have two port a cots available but it will depend when you are coming to stay as I would need to check that someone else isn't using them. You would need to bring your own bedding for them.

Property info

Located in the heart of Tekapo village, Kaltech House has a fantastic spacious deck from which to soak up the sun and stunning views of the lake and mountains. Only a few minutes walk to the village and lake front. The sunny living area and the main bedroom upstairs both open out onto the deck. Combined with a wonderfully equipped kitchen and dining area, it offers a great entertaining space, in all seasons. Heatpumps and a logfire keep it warm all year round. Upstairs also has a bathroom and separate toilet. The other 2 bedrooms are downstairs, with another bathroom including shower and toilet. There is also a single bed in the alcove between the bedrooms (not private). By prior agreement ONLY, the property welcomes well-behaved family dogs (not puppies sorry) so your whole family can enjoy the break (fully fenced). A small fee will apply. Please enquire.
