The breakfast that was served daily was AMAZING. Fresh pastries and muesli was a real hit, as well as the fresh eggs and bacon. The place was idyllic, quaint, and away from the hustle and bustle of normal city life. It is only a 30-minute drive around the beautiful waterfront, close to Allen's Beach where you can walk along the quiet beach and see some fantastic local wildlife. We would come here and stay again and hopefully do more exploring around this wonderful place. Thank you so much Brigette for sharing your local knowledge with us as well.

Steve & Brigitte were phenomenal hosts, the accommodation excellent and location wonderful. We were warmly welcomed and really felt at home from the outset as we were introduced to the hidden natural gems and way of life in the area. Three nights and 10 out of ten hardly do justice to a stay at Kingfisher...and the breakfasts...wow !

Kingfisher B&B is situated on a small farm surrounded by native bush and overlooking Hoopers Inlet. This is an ideal location from which to explore the Otago peninsula.
Bush walks and bird watching are readily accessed from the door of your private and quiet self contained room. A short walk through the bush takes you to Portobello village and Otago harbour. A short drive and you can be walking on the Beach, seeing the rare NZ sea-lion and yellow eyed penguin. A 20 minute drive will take you to Tairoa Head and the only mainland colony of the great Northern royal Albatross.
