This is perfect a property to spend some quality time. Property is on awesome location and offers full privacy. Amazed by overall ambience and facilities provided. Fully equipped house with enough parking space, big lawn and garden area, deck outdoor fireplace and barbecue. Wooden walkway to the lake give you pleasant feeling. Property has small private beach with a wooden bench on shore. This place is a one of a kind. Whenever I'll be visiting rotorua again, this is my only preferred place to stay. I'm definitely visiting again and again.

Location was amazing, the view was stunning and the hosts were very attentive. Provided us with free goodies which we appreciated very much. There is a kayak as well if you want to explore the lake a bit and outside area has a bbq.

Lake Haven is right beside the lake in such a picturesque, peaceful location. The house was wonderfully clean and homely, with beautiful linen and so many extra features we were all so impressed. Why would you stay at some clinical motel when you can stay at this beautiful Haven. Thank-you Kim and Aaron for this wonderful family memory.

The cottage is in a beautiful and quiet lakeside location, with a wonderful view and a tranquil setting. It was well furnished and had everything we needed to make a weekend holiday. The lakeside backyard, giant Canary Island date palm, outdoor deck and fireplace, and wharf are magical. And the hosts allowed us to bring our Labrador retriever.

  • Hi. We are considering a 1 week stay and have a question. We are a family of 4. We have family in Tauranga, 2 adults and 2 little girls aged 6 & 8. Would they be able to stay with us for a night or two - a short visit. We could take a mattress if need be? Thanks
    Hi, many thanks for your enquiry. Terribly sorry but the house is set up for a maximum of 6 people. Perhaps a bach that sleeps 8 may better meet everyones needs. Sometimes guests have visitors for the day to enjoy the location. Kind Regards

  • Can we transfer a booking to later date if there is a government mandated lockdown?
    Yes of course. We are very happy for you to change your dates in the event of a government lockdown.

  • Can we launch our JetSki from the property or is there a ramp nearby?
    You can launch a jet ski or boat on a great boat ramp literally less than 2 minutes drive away and park it either on the beach at the bottom of the garden or tie it to the jetty. Plenty of parking for the trailer both at the ramp and at the bach.

  • Is your private beach next to the property or do I need to use a means of transportation to go there?
    The beach is at the end of the front lawn. Depending upon the level of the lake sometimes it is a small beach and other times it is bigger. You can just walk about 15 steps to go from the house to the water.

Lake Haven is situated right on the lake edge of Lake Rotorua in Hamurana. The house is a kiwi classic 1970's Lockwood bach with a warm log cabin interior. It is a comfy and clean place to relax with everything you need for a lovely stay. Lake Haven is very private, surrounded with trees with a lovely relaxed feeling and amazing lake view from the lounge, kitchen, master bedroom and queen bedroom. The large deck with the outdoor fire and BBQ is a wonderful place to feel the embrace of the beauty, enjoy a glass of wine and toast some marshmallows. A great place for families and couples. The lake is shallow for a long way so is great for the children. Life jackets of many sizes are provided along with four kayaks,including a double, to enjoy being on the lake. A small sandy beach is also at the bottom of the lawn. Prepare to relax on the lake edge with this beautiful view. A very peaceful and restful location. Only a 10 minute drive to Ngongotaha with a supermarket, cafes, takeaways, Post shop, Doctors surgery and antiques. It is another 5-10 minutes into the city and most tourist activities.
Aaron and I live in the house next door and we are very happy to assist with information and some guidance if you would like. You wont see us unless you wish to :) or you have a problem we can help with. We love to have people enjoying Lake Haven and its special location. We consider it a privilege to own a holiday home and as well as having paying guests enjoy it, we are also part of Time Out. This arranges for people with a terminal illness and their family, to enjoy Lake Haven - Lake Edge for free. This provides a special family time to make precious memories.
Lake Haven is a great place to stay and enjoy or to use as a base for exploring all that Rotorua has to offer. Day trips are easily made to Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Whakatane, Ohope, Hamilton (Hobbiton) and Taupo. Rotorua is world famous for mountain biking, rafting, fishing and has a host of other activities for all ages, interests and abilities.
